Answering An Evangelical Email

The following is an email from an evangelical minded man in Australia.

To set the scene: 
*He and his family are pagan Christmas/Easter keepers
*They believe in once saved always saved
*They enjoy the things of the world like carnal sports, movies politics etc 
*They do not teach biblical dress or head covering

I thought it would be wise to answer it here, in detail, line by line to edify the saints all over the world. 

See his email below then my words in bold with ***** by them as I answer him.

Dear Jim,


I write this in response to a kind email sent by my sister.
Thank you very much for the concern you expressed. I appreciate very much the love and genuineness with which you write. 

**** I am glad you see it was done in kindness/concern as that was the goal. (as some there reported they were offended by it but I know truth does offend and cut. Hebrews 4;12)  

And it has been a blessing to examine myself before my Father and to dig back into scripture and reaffirm what it actually says on this all important issue of salvation.   

**** Amen and as those who claim to be of Christ, we should be digging in them and living them daily ...amen?  
I agree with most of what you have in so much as it agrees with scripture. Especially the fact that you cannot "add Jesus" to your life. We have to give Him our whole life. 

**** Agreed and that is a life that proves a saving faith via holiness and obedience to His Word leaving both man made false religion (evangelicalism in this case) and the fallen worlds ways. See John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.


Please be encouraged to keep going in your faith with Jesus. I'm sure you know as well as me that it is a hard world to be a follower of Christ and Satan is so good at discouraging us so please be encouraged to keep going strong in our Lord Jesus!

**** Thank you and I am striving on daily and we pray this email outreach will spur you and your family to go deeper into the full truth vs the keeping of man made ways (sin) that God hates / rejects. I offer to you the real issue is this:
 Your faith is rooted on the foundational of the Protestant / evangelical ways NOT the first century ordained ways of Christ. Also I offer you that evangelicals are more concerned with just getting to heaven for sure, than with glorifying God while on earth via holiness and obedience. I will prove this as I go on here ....
 You said "Unless you are showing the fruit of living in the spirit (truth) via a saving faith by obeying Him daily...you will be lost and we do not want that.

**** Yes that would be Ephesians 5:9 the fruit of the spirit is goodness, righteousness and truth and Hebrews 5:9 "He made the way of eternal life was for those who obey Him" and Matt 7
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 


If you are NOT losing your life daily in Christ and hated by the world/even by family ( Matt 10 ) you cannot be of Him."

He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
and Matt 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.


While you have grabbed part of a couple verses here where in scripture does it say specifically that we will be lost if we are not hated? 

***** By reading the picture of scriptures that Jesus gave us ( verses I showed you and more) we see you cannot be like the world or of the world and claim life in Jesus. He said we WILL be hated! Do you believe Him? You do know all of His disciples were killed and tortured over Jesus and throughout the ages ANYONE who lived apart from Roman Catholicism and your Protestant ways were hunted down and killed by them both? Scriptures like James 4:4 says to be friend of the world, makes you God's enemy. There are many like this that warn of being like or close to the world will damn you.

While yes it is a consequence of following Jesus that true believers, myself included suffer, no where that I have seen is it a prerequisite to salvation as you have proclaimed. 

***** Have you not read 2 Tim 3:12?
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

So you would say we can claim new life in Jesus but NOT live changed, holy or godly? Chapter and verse please?

And where does it say specifically that unless you are showing the fruit of the spirit you will be lost? 


**** Have you not read Romans 8?
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. / For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Without a spirit led life you are condemned as NOT of Him.

Also interesting that you mention truth as being the only fruit of the spirit -

yes absolutely the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth but what about love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, faith, goodness, and righteousness as listed in  Galatians 5 and Ephesians 5? We have no right to pick one fruit as more important and teach it so.

****Go read our letter as it NEVER says ONLY fruit, it says the fruit. If you study God's Word that loosely, you will be in error and perhaps miss eternal life. Please study and quote correctly as truth matters. Jesus is the truth John 14:6
There are other gifts but be careful... even cult mormon's have love and patience....it is no guarantee you are of God is it?
The full Word is our test....

If you find yourself with a faith that is not manifesting in your life by way of all the fruit of the spirit, trying to do these fruits WILL NOT fix your faith. it will then become dead works that do nothing and risk you resting in dead wood hay and stubble that will be burned up.

I offer that your evangelical faith has a false incomplete easy believe, once saved always saved gospel and so my concern is just what you mentioned. It makes false converts who lack godly fruit and they need repentance / new hearts. That very reason we reached out to you all in love.  

If the fruit is not evident in your life, if the tree is not bearing good fruit, you need to go back and look at wether your faith is actually real. 

**** Ah... I would say go back to see if you have been born again via faith and repentance. If you are still in man made evangelical ways and linked to the fallen worlds ways, you have not repented to new life. Read John 17:14 ... Jesus nor His people are of the world. You do believe Jesus words?
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Evangelicalism is LINKED TO and LOVED by the fallen world is it not? You love the world's  games and ways don't you?

Look wether you actually have a relationship with Jesus (cause thats what its all about - Mathew 7:23, Revelation 3:20 to name a few). 

******  There is NO verse that says we have a relationship with Jesus is there? Chapter and verse please if you have it? We have a blood covenant to place our trust in His finished work then born of Him, we OBEY to follow Him to the end.... as fruit of that covenant. (Like a marriage, is it good if one breaks the covenant and cheats? No sir and I offer that evangelicals cheat on God via their man made false ways sin , and worldliness) 
Matt 7;23 says
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
It is SIN (iniquity) that Jesus calls them out for and I call out evangelical sin's as I will show in this reply. 
Rev 3:20 says:
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
This is clearly done via the holy spirit NOT personally with Jesus face to face so you have NO relationship per se yet, you have a blood covenant to obey. The relationship with come at the return of Christ when He comes for faithful saints that endure are with him face to face. By the way, to refute your once saved always saved ways, Jesus says: 
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne
You do believe Jesus words right? See you must over come as you do not have it yet, per Jesus?



Look wether God is really living inside of you.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
I offer the evangelical ways and its peoples lives are NOT living in holiness or the light of God's Word but they keep much darkness/sin of the world and man made ways God hates!

Because if God truly is living in you in the form of the spirit, I dont believe it is possible to keep walking in unbridled sin. 

*** Do you believe scripture as it says you are wrong? 
Hebrews 10:26 says:
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.


Yes absolutelly our lives need to show "works", but the are evidence of whats inside and tweeking your works won't do anything for your salvation or help you enter the narrow gate. 

**** Do you believe scripture as James says you are wrong.
James 2 says:
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 


Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for a similar issue in Mathew 23:23-28 where they thought they could fix the inside by painting the outside white. 
Mathew 7:18-19. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  

Mathew 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.  

The fruit is only evidence of what tree it is. have to look at the tree to change the fruit. Changing the fruit won't change the tree.  

**** Again I agree and it is why we reached out to you all. You have ill false fruit of man made evangelical religion. You need to see that your lives, theology and gospel are NOT in line with scripture. Amen, you just having some fruit is meaningless UNLESS you have been born again. I will tell you this; once you are born again you now WANT truth and holiness and will settle for nothing less.  2 Peter 1 said it best:
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
This is evangelicalism.... blind and off the mark of Christ.

For a long time I lived with this almost correct mindset where I did a lot of Good deeds and street evangelism/mission work overseas because I felt I had to to make God happy or earn His salvation.  

***** Here you did err greatly. We cannot ever EARN salvation. You won't ever hear me say such a thing. We gain eternal life by Christ via the gospel ... faith in His perfect work, repenting /turning from sin/false ways, being born again, having the fruit of holiness and obedience and we must endure. 
But your comment 'you had to make God happy' is very suspect. It proves my point about evangelicals. See if you were born of God in the heart, you would not feel you HAVE to please God. NO... you would WANT to please him as a new creation and His son. Did you know we are to please God as Holy children.

        What scripture tells you that you can live in sin/false ways worldliness and disregard His holy ordained ways to please your flesh and still be of Him? Chapter and verse please? 
"Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life."  1 John 5:12 Simple. 

***** This is the plight/weakness of evangelicals. They cherry pick verses out of the bible test it for their own brand of truth and disregard other verses. If God is truly living in you, it will show in your fruit. 

**** again I agree .... and it is why we are having this communication. Your evangelical fruit has a false jesus with a easy believe gospel, pagan holidays, worldliness and a disregard for clothing your body temple biblically as scripture teaches clearly. That is called... sin ....and it makes for BAD fruit. We love you all so we brought it up. Did you know without obeying God as fruit you wont enter the kingdom. Hebrew 5:9 says:
"he made the way of eternal life was for those who obey Him" 


What I do find interesting though is that you are making such an assessment of where I am at before God is saying I need to choose eternal life which means I do not have it even though we have never met. I'm not sure this lines up with Romans 14:4 and Mathew 7:1-2. 

**** As you know... a close family member  ( who came out of these sins already) can testify to your worldliness, pagan holidays, your false gospel and immodesty/unbiblical dress. What else would you like me to know to see you are not a biblical holy godly man but a evangelical man? You are conforming to the worldly man made religious system/standards when the bible says in Romans 12: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

By the way, Romans 14 is about foods and festivals between Jews an gentiles...NOT sin and worldliness of claimed saints. I am called to judge the body. See 1 Cor 5 / Matt 18
And Matt 7:1-2 says to indeed judge but do it without hypocrisy. James 5 says I should pull you from your sin to save the soul fro death. (another verse that exposes once saved always saved) Show me my hypocrisy and sin and I will repent of it. Will you folks repent of yours? See you are twisting truth to your gain but it is sinful. There is a difference between raising a fault with someone and judging their state of salvation which is only between them and God according to these verses.  
Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.  

**** Again Romans 14 is about food and feasts... NOT sin! 
Get your context correct or you will be deceived. 
I am not judging your eternal fate at all. I am just telling you unless you repent of man made religion and all false worldly ways as fruit you are born of God, you will perish. Kind of like Paul telling them that no adulterer or thief will gain heaven. 1 Cor 6 / So was Paul judging their eternal fate too? Have you not read..... even Revelation 22:14-15 says keeping a lie will keep you out of heaven??? You should be fearful as Paul said in Phil 2 (work out salvation in fear and trembling) not the evangelical smugness that you have it all locked up for sure. 
Scripture tells you to rethink that false way!  

You said "If you disregard this message and call to be holy for God (that is set apart for Him) you will perish in your sins."
Chapter and verse please.

**** Have you not read 
Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 


So without holiness you wont see God. You do believe scripture right? 

Note: Paul goes on to refute your once saved always saved here as well in later verses of Heb 12
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
Jesus tells us to be perfect (fully mature) Matt 5:48 and that is not keeping sin. Peter also commands be holy for God is holy 1 Peter 1:15 / It is PART of the new nature we get at new birth and evangelicals lack it as I fear most are not born again by their ill fruit.  

You make some good points here, but there is also some dangerous heresy here that is extremely common and easily believed as it is so close to the truth as most incorrect doctrines are. 

**** Heresy??? Yes, that would be the evangelicals who came along 1500 years after Jesus set His NT body up. Yours was built on murderous men/traditions from heretic popes, Luther and Calvin. My truth is built on Jesus and the prophets and apostles for my foundation. See Ephesians 2 

It also appeals to the need we feel as humans to do something to help with salvation. it is hard to accept thats Gods gift of salvation is entirely free. (free but costs us our lives)  

**** Show me one place I ever teach we ADD to salvation? 
 Here you show again your faulty gospel. While God gave it free, if you believe Jesus ( do you? ) He says you have to lose your life/some out of the world to gain it... in Him. You evangelicals cheapen the gospel all with your easy believe / FREE theology. Like a marriage...  oh it only costs you like $20 for a license ( almost free ) but your entire life is given in and changed and surrendered to and for the other. If you think marriage is as free and you act out to NOT to be ALL in for your wife but careless as you allow yourself to sin/run with other woman, well... poor her I say.  John the Baptist said have fruit worthy of repentance Matt 3:8 while you evangelicals say it is not really needed, really. Shame on you and it shows your heart is not of God as the Psalmist says I HATE ALL FALSE WAYS. Psalm 119 / This proves what I said ...evangelicals are more set on just getting into heaven ... then honoring and obeying God as fruit they are of Him and appreciation of all He did for us. So very sad...         

Romans 5:15
But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 3:24
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  

Revelation 22:17
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

**** Amen all great verses.... but not one says you get it by being unchanged, living in sin and walking in the ways of man made religion or the carnal world. Those verses speak to true transformed saint who were trained in the whole truth and knew the cost, not a few verses like you seem to cling to.  Many verses warn that if you are of those ways he will spew you out. Here is one:
Rev 3
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 
(Jesus words also shoot down your easy believe once saved ways, just saying! ) 
What is being missed here is just how high God's standards are. Our very best is as "filthy rags" to God Isaiah 64:6

*** Ah here you enter another fatal flaw of your man made faith. You quote that filthy rags verse and I am pretty sure you never even studied it out deeply have you as if yo had you would not use it. See it proves my point of evangelicals. They just believe what murderous heretic men have handed down to them. That verse does NOT say all you or mine righteousness are filthy rags to God. In context... it was a Prophet telling Israel (as they worshipped God and lived in idolatry and rebellion against Him) that their righteousness was filthy to God as He hates hypocrisy doesn't he. Go read Matt 23

Are you aware of all the men in the bible God viewed as righteous? ... Noah/Abraham as a example and in Luke 1:
 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
In Matt 25 Jesus says this: 
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
And you said God does not see our righteousness but Jesus said YES HE DOES. (we do need Jesus perfect righteous for salvation but; if you are not striving to obey and live righteous for God daily, you are not born of His spirit)

There is NO way we can ever be good enough for God. 

**** Good enough for salvation, no! Good enough to place our faith in Christ, repent of our sins, be born again, obey in holiness / and endure till the end. Oh yes, that the is goodness He has called us too. Read Matt 22 the great command is t love God with all that you are. You evangelicals DO NOT do it as you allow sin, false religion and the fallen world to overtake you. You are NOT pleasing to the father is this, no you are not. 
We can can be righteous and please Him in our obedience. 
Have you not read: 1 Sam 15
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

If we could be, then why did Jesus have to die? 

**** Jesus came to be the PERFECT Lamb of God to open the way, back to the Father. No man could do that act and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Heb 9:22 / But having done that the Word is clear, if you trample under foot His blood by sinning on, you will be list and NOT atoned for. Heb 6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
By the way Heb 6 also goes on to show you that once saved always saved is a lie:
But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. / 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. (you must endure to the end to gain it) 

God showed us just how high his standards are in Mathew 5. And the 10 commandments - every single human fails at commandment number 1 all the time. 

**** Amen and Jesus fills that for His saints for salvation then He calls us to strive Luke 13 and that is to OBEY Him and His Word/ways. Matt 28:20 He said teaching them to OBEY all he commanded. (you believe Jesus don't you?) But going back to the husband example, so because you can't be PERFECT, you wont even try to be fully faithful to her? Or your son knowing, he can't be perfect so he wont obey most of your rules of the house and you will just over look his MANY transgressions as he does not even try. What foolishness as you make a mockery of a Holy God and His Holy spirit that ENABLES us to obey and live in the spirit, not the flesh. 
1 Peter 4
 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
  
Romans 7 shows us that the law exists to show us just how short of Gods standards we fall. To show us how badly we need Jesus. Paul said in Romans that "in Him dwells no good thing"

**** Sadly you blur truth here again in two ways:
First, you smear the lines or salvation and reasonable service. 
Romans 12 / We know man has fallen short for salvation and I preach Jesus in the streets as the ONLY hope. Where your evangelical faith fails you is that you miss that God has redeemed His people via Christ by His spirit for what? To sit defeated, to live worldly, to have sin rule over us and wait for heaven as we live in our fallen flesh? Oh no.... Peter says he redeemed a holy peculiar people for Himself and Paul says we are to be zealous for good works. Titus 2:14  
Next, you smear the truth of Romans 7 by only reading part of the Roman letter. Yes Paul says he is fallen carnal flesh man who has the capacity to sin a lot. I am like Paul in that and so are you. The story does NOT end there sir. Read Chapter 8 where Paul teaches we are not hopeless and he gives the remedy. Because of Christ and the spirit we can live in the SPIRIT and we will NOT fulfill the deeds of the flesh. Why are you making my Savior/God so weak that you cannot over come MOST sin and walk in holiness? Romans 8
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. The fact is; I was a fleshly man as an unregenerated evangelical and by your own words/ways/interests, I see you have that fruit as well.  

It is a downright lie to think we can become truly Holy in this life. 

**** Again you have NOT been taught solid biblical truth. 
First; God commands we be what you say we can't? Don't you believe God's Word sir? It says all over to BE holy. One example: 1 Thess 5 
I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
And holy for us does NOT mean we are perfect and never fall or sin. Holy is to be set apart for God so we strive because we love and obey God (John 14:15) to walk in purity and obedience. Paul here shares his ongoing struggle with sin. He says that "sin dwells in Him" and that "in Him dwells no good thing". Paul was a entirely committed Christian, yet He still had sin living in him that he was wrestling with.

Jeremiah 10 says do not do as pagans/heathens do but you are doing them! 

   It would seem quite prideful to say you know above other things what specific things God hates more than others. If God hates anything it is pride (because he has specifically said so Proverbs 8:13, James 4:6)

This promise of this perfect love casting out fear is for those who ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD! I have to say evangelicals do not show the godly love towards us and they are worldly. This means they have NOT attained the perfect love as they stay in their sins. John said if you don't love (hate a brother)  you have NOT God.  
We can be entirelly sure of our salvation and resting in the unchangeable guarantee of God, looking forward to our salvation while we serve Him here in the meantime.

**** Yes they WERE that once but they repented and were washed. Now if they go back into sin, they will be lost. How else would James say this in chapter 5:
