Parents are to be the teachers of the children so we are offering simple posts that parents can expound upon.

We were driving along and saw this little turtle trying to cross the road so we helped him before any cars could hit him. The bible tells us we should love God and love our neighbor... Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Turtles are not neighbors but we can help them if we find them in trouble and it's a nice picture and example of how we can love our neighbor. How much more should we love our neighbor, brother, sister, mom, dad, grandparents, family and friends who are people and not animals or creatures? Let us remember that as we go about our days, being kind and loving to those around us and obeying our parents. This is pleasing to God. Good day to you all! We saw these ants and they made me think of a teaching for you. God's word, the Bible, teaches that children are to obey their parents.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Ephesians 6:1 So, how can these ants teach us a lesson on obeying our parents? They are going about doing what God created and commanded them to do, just like children are to obey the commands of their parents. We also see that ants are not lazy, they are busy about their works. Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. Proverbs 6:6-8 Let me explain that a bit for you so you can understand. It means that we are not to be lazy and we should learn from the ants how they keep busy. They don't even have someone to guide or lead them by instructing them on what to do (like you have parents who do that for you), and they keep working hard storing up their foods. That is a good example for us don't you think? Remember this, when your parents give you instructions on chores you need to be doing as part of the household, you need to obey (because God said so) and be serious about doing them. This is pleasing to God. |
