John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. We see that truth matters as Christ is the truth, saints walk in truth and this post is a warning about most all bible story books that don't lead children to truth, instead they can be confusing and lead them away from it when they're older. Right away you can see how deceiving that book is by the picture, it puts animals at the level of people and makes it look all cute and fun. Genesis 7:11-12 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. Masses and masses of people perished in that flood, why? Because of their unrepentant sin which most of those books never even mention. Matthew 24:38-39 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Sudden destruction is coming to the world again and such books belittle the severity of God's wrath upon sin and those who won't repent of it. Here's another one.... A lot of the churches today (synogogues of Satan) use the veggie tales movies to give children 'good morals' and pervert the truth with them. I saw a bit of one of their shows (years ago) and it had veggies slapping each other with fish because they were 'bad' in Ninevah (or something like that). Such things make a mockery of our Savior and the Word, like that book, for example, teaches the lie of Christmass. Why not a LOT of God time for children and read the actual Bible to them, explaining it along the way? Why do we have to 'childrenize' the truth? Why do we have to cloak the truth with fun, cute pictures and little bits of God when we should be teaching them the whole truth? Children are MUCH smarter than people think and they can learn whatever you teach them, but sadly in this culture, it diminishes the awesome mind that God gave children and keeps them in their youth instead of training them up to become adults. The truth is a serious matter that should not be cartoonized, lied about, changed or goofied up to get the attention of children...that's all of Satan and His kingdom. Deuteronomy 6:4-7 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord : And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. There's proof that children can learn and follow the word of God. I would encourage you mothers, if you want to seve the Lord in Spirit and Truth and you want to train your children to do so, you need to be discerning in all areas of your life, including this one. On that note, examine all the other books your children have and ask yourself are they true and test them to this.... Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. If the books your children have fail by even one of those, toss them out. How many books do they need anyway, why not use that time for the only book that matters? Some things to think about. Matthew 18:3-6 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Teach your children to seek the kingdom of God, not the kingdom of Satan. In Christ,
