Encouragement Birthdays and Charities

Yesterday we preached the gospel and flew signs and when we do that, we share a lot of thoughts and edification.  I talked about how we need to be very careful and discern what organizations we donate our money to and a quick audio on testing birthdays.

Those audios are on our preach post HERE but I shared them in this woman's area in case someone comes in here looking for such things.

We took a witness walk in the downtown area this morning and when we walked into a thrift store, an older woman commented on brother Tupos scripture stick.  We didn't find anything to buy but I did give her a gospel card and a warning about following man made religion. Hope she seeks truth as she was really old and maybe not have much time left.  Speaking of, can you believe it's fall already (where we are anyway:-).  The leaves are falling and covering the ground, you can see some in the slideshow above (with all sorts of glimpses in our days).  Soon it will be time for us to begin migrating southward, following the decent weather as we go, looking for events and witnessing along the way.  

This sign (outside a jewelry store) made me think of how women of the world are swept away by pretty, flashy things and oftentimes they determine their worth by how expensive the ring is that their future husband gives them.  It's all corruptible and fleshly but godly women have no need of such things, nor wants anything to do with it all as there are more important things to think about and our worth is in Christ.  By the way, wedding rings are pagan and jewelry is adornment which is sinful before a holy God as we are commanded to not adorn the temple of the holy spirit (1 Timothy 2 and 1 Peter 3).  Go HERE to our teaching blog to read many articles that teach on such things and more topics. 

I saw that at a thrift store and I was thinking how wicked and proud America is.  Look at the American paper money and see that it says 'In God we Trust' and so do many of the police cars, yet the lives and culture are totally against Him.  (By the way, I won't go into all the pagan things on the money right along with the 'In God we Trust').  I remember the 911 tower incident (that was before I was in Christ) and everyone was crying and scared but right before that, maybe a week or two (I can't remember) there was a BIG earthquake that happened in another country and many people died but I didn't see people crying over them. I remember looking at everyone in the office and wondering what their problem was, why cry for Americans but not others?  Pride...how dare someone do something to us, we're Americans!  Anyway...there will be a day of reckoning for everyone outside of Christ, regardless of what their sins are so we need to be faithful in sharing the truth that we have, shining our light to the lost around us no matter what country you live in.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Let us strive to be complete, mature and whole. (Go look up the Greek and Hebrew for perfect and ponder that:-)
