We were blessed to travel through an area that brought me great joy to do so (all the glory to God) and I'll share a story with you about it and maybe it will make you smile and be edified. Many years ago as a brand new believer, not knowing any better, I used to follow so called Christian women's blogs and websites and I quickly learned that most were worldly, carnal and far from the truth of God so I emailed them the gospel and let them go when they never responded. There were a couple that 'seemed' closer to the truth based on what I saw in their lives (head covered, biblical dress, out of the world, simple lives etc) and one actually responded to an email so brother Tupos reached out to the husband. Turns out they were Calvinists (once saved always saved) and didn't want to talk about it and shortly after our communication ended they began posting links to heretical preachers. They belonged to a small group of people and brother Tupos even reached out to another one of the members that we found out about but that didn't go well either. After all that, I stopped watching their posts until years later (a year ago) I looked back to see if they had repented and were in the truth but what I found was they left whatever biblical truth they 'might have had' and went right into the world and she no longer posts anything. I was sad that they hadn't repented but thankful that they weren't posting such heresy anymore. Not long ago we were planning on heading to a big city metro area for the weekend but the night before, changed our minds to a different area. (Which by the way turned out to be excellent for preaching and witnessing.) As I looked on the map, I saw that we had to go through a rather remote area and remembered that was the place that group was so looked forward to bringing truth there as we traveled through. Normally, on our travels we stop at waysides and leave gospel tracts and rarely do we ever find any from others (maybe one or two in all our years of doing this) but as we approached that area we stopped at one and found several unbiblical tracts left on the tables. Because we love our neighbors, we took the unbiblical tracts and put them where they belong. We replaced those with the biblical biblical gospel (you can find that HERE). We stopped at several waysides and continued the process and all the while I was thankful to be able to replace the trash with truth. There's a good possibility that the group was the one leaving them because we found no more as we moved away from that area. (We drove drove our van around flying gospel signs in that area and town and then moved on down the road.) My heart was rejoicing greatly to be able to shine the light of Christ and His truth in that area that false teaching was being spread. We did see this written on one of the tables and although there's truth to it, we suspect that the person writing it might belong to either a Hebrew Roots or Sacred Name group, which could fit in with the aberrant beliefs of the group there, having varying doctrines from what we learned of. Through through it all I thought of this.... Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. I was thinking about that passage and how people will make their own choices about the trash of false teaching and the truth of Christ, and our efforts (small in the great realm of deception today) glorify God no matter what impact they have on people. 2 Kings 18:1-6 Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father did. He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses. Brother Tupos and I would love to be able to destroy all the false doctrines, quiet all the false teachers and shut down the synagogues of Satan / churches of today but we know the Lord has a plan and a use for all things and that's His business, we just do what we can to stand for truth, contend for the faith and preach the gospel, letting the Lord deal with all the rest. Romans 9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Romans 9:22-23 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, I'm thankful to not be a vessel of wrath any longer and I hope you're not either, test yourself to the biblical gospel HERE...toss out any trash in your life and cling to the truth! If you're interested, there's a new Titus 2 / Proverbs 31 post HERE. Psalm 40:9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest. Peace, love, grace and mercy to you all,
