Upright

Psalm 112:4 
Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

That one sentence has a lot to it, as does all of God's Word!  I thought it would be edifying to read some scriptures on 'upright'.  (Do a word search on 'upright' and then look at the various depths of meanings for your own edification.)

I've been thinking about the pictures I share (and have shared) and they show the beauty of God's creation but I've been thinking about how the pictures are often sanitized of the real world we live in, such as this...

There were other flowers by these with a really nice setting but I wanted to share the real thing with you as that is often what we see.  And things like this...

....and this...

I 'sanitize' a lot of the pics I share (meaning I take the best shot and try to eliminate a lot evidence of man's ways) because I want to give God glory by what is portrayed in the photo but in reality, it's in the midst of the mess. It made me think of the opposite, what churchianity does.  They try to 'sanitize' their lives by eliminating the truth and then portray what they think is godly in their lives, but in reality, they 'are' and 'in' a mess of sin and lies. 

Here's another example...

That picture looks so calm and peaceful (it was really clean there though) but in reality, there's a highway right next to the lot as well as another high speed road alongside it and the loud cars and trucks were racing along it all night long. What you see looks quiet but in reality is the opposite.  Just like churchianity people looking peaceful and confident in their 'faith' but in reality, the opposite is true as they are filled with sin and hypocrisy.  

Matthew 15:8 
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Let us not portray one thing on the outside and in reality be something different on the inside. Let us walk upright.  I am who I am and what you've seen on my old blog and here, is who I am.  I don't sanitize myself to portray something else, in fact I share my shortcomings in order to encourage others who struggle in the same areas.  Here's an example of not walking uprightly.

Galatians 2:14 
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Go read Proverbs 9 and see that fear of God is beginning of wisdom...let us fear the Lord who is greatly to be praised and walk upright in His ways!

1 Chronicles 16:25-26 
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.
