Praises to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords for another day to serve Him! Acts 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. I love thinking about how they were singing praises to the Lord in the midst of being in prison instead of bemoaning their fate. They could have wasted their time complaining but instead they used the time to glorify God and the other prisoners heard them...that's awesome! Brother Tupos and I have some experience in a similar situation of persecution and we did use it for the glory of God and many people heard the truth! I hope, out of all that, someone changes their current path and repents before they lose their soul...God was glorified either way. We had some travel today and are thankful to have safely reached our destination. Along the way we stopped at a wayside to put out gospel cards. They had a huge walkway up above the ground going to all the different pavilions. (It gets really swampy here in the wet weather.) Deuteronomy 5:32-33 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. It makes me think about how we need to watch where we go lest we fall physically but how much more, spiritually. I don't want that for me or for you! As we walked and put out GOSPEL cards we saw these signs. We need to constantly be on the watch for physical predators and even more so, spiritual predators which come in many different forms, stemming from satan who wants to steal the souls of saints. Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; I love that, we have an anchor of the soul if we're in Christ! I took a little walk this morning and saw these vultures in the trees, watching and waiting to see what I would do and as I got closer, they flew off. All this made me think of 'watch'. We have to be physically observant in this life where the world hates us and is out to find a way to either shut us up or get us out of the way so they can go about their sin business without any guilt AND MORE SO we need to watch spiritually. I thought I'd share a few verses on watch here, to edify us all. Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Mark 13:35-37 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Luke 12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. 1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 2 Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. I've been pondering this a lot more lately... Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. We've done our best to watch over the souls of those who have come into our lives but in the end, they don't see what we try to show them and instead of submitting and going to the Lord for truth, they go off and do whatever it is they do, having that blind spot in them that is actually darkness they can't see. It grieves us but we keep pressing on, hoping some day, the scales fall of their eyes and they can see clearly to watch their own souls before it's too late. Proverbs 8:33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. The more ministry we do, the more we see how imperative it is to be very cautious in every way, constantly watching and testing all things. The Lord is our strength and the reason we can keep going. Exodus 15:2 The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. Psalm 18:1-2 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. 2 Timothy 4:17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. Examine yourself, your life and your motives and see that they are pure before a holy God because our time is coming and we want to watch and be ready. Proverbs 8:34-35 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. Love in Christ,
