Encouragement for Today (1/9/24)

1 John 2:1 
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

We were flying gospel signs the other day and when I saw that sidewalk I thought about the walk of a saint striving to follow and obey Christ. (Test yourself HERE to the biblical gospel as many people are deceived by a false one.)  A true saint, a blood bought daughter of the most high, a servant of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords won't walk in continuous sin.  She may slip into it, the flesh may get weak at times and she might be blind to some things but she won't live in it. Her walk, if she's truly born of the Spirit of God, will be one of going forward with some slight issues along the way, rather like that sidewalk with a little crook in it but still going in the right direction.  1 John is not a license to sin, like we constantly hear, it's an encouragement to those who are striving in obedience but fall once in a while.  

John 14:26 
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1 John 2:27 
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

If you truly have the Holy Spirit in you, your desire is to please the Lord and you're doing all you can for Him, you will NOT be living in all the sins that we see 'claimed believers' living in, otherwise the scriptures above are a lie.  The Holy Spirit of God is fully capable of leading and teaching a woman in all things, keeping her from being deceived if she believes and follows the Word.  

Luke 21:8 
And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

I've been using that passage above in the streets for women, telling them that Jesus warned that deception will abound in the last days and they need to test themselves.  The other day I got to help a Spanish woman who was trying to get something from a top shelf in a store and when I was done I gave her a gospel card and shared truth with her.  She was receptive and when I mentioned about not being deceived, she gave me a thoughtful look (like 'that's true') and nodded her head.  Everybody seems so sure in their minds (not testing all things) about that they believe but what do the scriptures say about that? 

Saints don't live by what's in their minds because this can happen if they do...

Deuteronomy 11:16 
Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

Do this......

Matthew 4:4 
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Proverbs 30:5 
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

...and your walk and path will continue to go in the right direction.
