Psalm 25:7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord. The Lord's mercies were new again today and we get to serve Him in joy and thanksgiving. Brother Tupos found this mug in a thrift store.... (It says 'His mercies are new every morning'.) ...and he took a picture to send it to a brother to encourage him. We were going to buy it but the letters easily scratched off as it must have just been written on it. Anyway, as we were driving down the road, I looked up the scripture: It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. We talked about how each day we wake up, we get a new start and another try at doing our best for the Lord. I said that I'm thankful that we don't have days that are like 5-6 days long before getting a new day as you'd have to carry so much with you for all that time before you could rest, put it behind you and start again. Of course we repent right away and keep going in each day but there's something to be said about waking up, not being in the midst of just ahead of what you just messed up or something, and getting a fresh start. Lamentations 3:18-26 And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the Lord : Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. We were traveling through a desolate area and stopped at a little wayside to see the water and take a break when an older man pulled in with his truck to add air to his tires. He said a woman passed him and was waving and pointing at it so he stopped to check it. He got the gospel and we walked away smiling about how the gospel gets to go out in different situations. Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. I would consider, the middle of not much for population, a form of 'hedges' :-) Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. Saints of God (I hope you are one...test yourself to the biblical gospel HERE) go and preach the gospel (go back and read the whole context of Luke 14 and see the similarities) and then let the Lord do the work in people which will be few in the end. Churchianity on the other hand does things like this: (It's a whistle says 'All aboard Gospel Express.) They try to add people to what they think is the body of Christ (their man made religious system which is of Satan) by being all inclusive saying all are welcome, leading people to believe they are in Christ but they really are children of Satan until they repent and become converted by the power of the Holy Spirit. Let's look at a few (of the many) scriptures that defy that... John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. They also use such wicked tactics as this... (Brother Tupos found it at the laundrymat.) They lead people to believe they're born again by saying a prayer that lacks repentance, obedience and endurance! Then they walk around telling people they got their ticket punched or they have the ticket already (yes we've had people say that to us many times). 2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. Romans 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. I took that picture while walking into a store for a witness walk and I was hoping they mean what they say. I walked the whole store for about an hour, flying my gospel bag all the while, looking for opportunities to share the gospel and didn't see a brother or sister anywhere during it all. We often see lip service Christianity like that and it makes me want to be even more faithful because the Lord is worthy! Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. I took that picture and modified it to share here and ask you....what would people say about you and how you're serving the Lord? Are you walking in the spirit, rejoicing in the Lord, being a good servant, preaching the gospel to the lost, taking care of your husband, children and home? Do people see you filled with joy and peace? It's good for us all to think about and make sure we're representing the Lord in the way we should be and not letting the world and it's cares sweep us away. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. We're still in an area with the Spanish language being spoken but most speak English so we're having little need for Spanish tracts lately. We have them ready though and Lord willing if we come into another area, we're prepared! Saints should be prepared for all things at all times. There re many examples in the scriptures about being prepared but Noah is a good example of faith and works and preparing for what's coming. Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. Hold fast the truth and seek the kingdom of God.
