Encouragement for Today (6/1/24)

Greetings sister saints who love the Lord!

Genesis 2:9 
​And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

I was reading in Genesis this morning and saw that scripture of God creating the tree of knowledge of good and evil AND the tree of life. 

Genesis 2:17 
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

They were commanded not to eat of the one tree, then we see what happens after they sin...

Genesis 3:22 
And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Now look at this...

Revelation 22:14 
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

From the beginning to the end that we are to obey God and if we do, we have the right to the tree of life, if we don't we won't.  So much for all those who say obedience has nothing to do with our salvation / tree of life. 

I took a witness walk the other day to the store on the other side of town and brother Tupos was going to come to pick me up.  Along the way I saw this place that used to be (many years ago) a thrift store and it reminded me of persecution.  Brother Tupos was witnessing to a man that walked up to him and the man got so mad at the truth that he said he wanted to punch brother Tupos in the face.  (He was really mad because he was defending his sin and brother was telling him the truth.)  He didn't throw any punches and he left mad but we hope he repented or does before it's too late. 

2 Timothy 3:12 
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

I saw this during my walk and made a point to walk across the street to put a gospel card in it and good thing I was on that side of the street because this man was coming down the sidewalk and got a gospel card.

I saw these (pics below) imprinted in the sidewalk in a big city we were in last week and thought about all the silly sayings of man that they put much effort and trust in, but negate the God who created all things. 

Proverbs 10:23 
It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

Man loves to come up with new sayings and thoughts....

Acts 17:21 
(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

Nothing new under the sun with man seeking some new saying or concept and lifting themselves up with it.  Let's be those who lift up the word of God and bring Him glory!

Psalm 18:46 
The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

He is worthy to be praised!!!!

We're in a very small town for the next couple days, taking a bit of a slower weekend before heading back to the bigger city for a string of preaching events this coming week, Lord willing.  

I hope you all are striving on and those of you who need to repent, I pray you do so quickly lest you be turned over.
