Encouragement for Today (6/20/21)

Greetings and love to our sisters worldwide!

Matthew 13:8-9 
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

I hope you have good soil that the truth of God going deep into, sprouting into that which is good fruit.  Abundant good fruit!

Luke 13:6-7 
He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

I find it interesting that the parable says 3 years.  We know for a fact (and others have proven it) that in one year a person can have a great amount of fruit with a constant production of it, so if someone is 3 years in the faith and showing little fruit, they should examine themselves to see if they truly are born again.  

The dresser of the vineyard intercedes and asks for one more year before it's cut down. Let that be a warning to us all and I'd say, to all the people we meet that claim Christ and show little fruit.  

Matthew 3:10 
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

And the awesome thing is, we don't do that all on our own!  We can do all things through Christ!  How's your fruit bearing?  Are you doing it all unto the Lord or are you just shoving yourselves through the day to get by?  Do a heart check, often, and see what your motive is.  

We had some travel today and misty rain off and on so we did some witnessing walking through stores and gospel cards went out.  We stopped at a wayside and I saw a woman cooking on a propane camp stove on a picnic table so I called out to her and told her I used to have one. We talked a couple minutes and I offered her a gospel card but she wasn't interested and said she already knows Christ.  I didn't push it much because I was the one who approached her and so I turned and started walking away, saying that Christ made the way for those who obey' Him.  She commented that she already knows that.  The Lord heard her and saw it all happen so He will be dealing with it. We just be faithful and go about our works for Him.  

We got to our little town that we're in for the night and stopped at a laundrymat we know of that's super reasonable and I caught up on some clothes and I even dried some (which is super rare) because the forecast is calling for more rain the next few days. I used to feel guilty about that, paying money to wash clothes when I can do them by hand, but sometimes finding enough water can be really challenging and we don't want to drive around looking for it because that costs more.  I'm always learning as we go, picking my battles and what's most important in this life so for a few dollars here and there, I can get a load done and get on with other important things. I'm sharing this because I know there are sisters out there who might get wrapped up in such things as I have.  We're never too old to learn how to let go of things or begin doing things, keeping our priorities straight with our focus on the Lord.  (Kinda makes me think of Mary and Martha, just sayin':)

2 Peter 3:18
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

That's what I want to focus on and encourage you to do also.
