Saludos en El Señor! I'm thankful for each new day to serve the Lord because it's like a new start and I can try to do better in this over than the last, always reaching towards perfection (maturity, completeness in Him). Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. We were preaching at an event (see that post HERE) and a woman put an envelope in hermano Tupos pocket while he was reading the word of God, then she walked away. Inside was a couple gift cards to a new restaurant in that town, with some scriptures included. We were sorry that we didn't get a chance to speak to that woman, but thankful because she could clearly see the websites on our signs if she wants to reach out. Later, we used the gift cards and that helped prompt this post as well as our time traveling our here seeing that massive amounts of food people lust after. I've spoken on this before but it's always good to have reminders for godly women (I hope your are one, test yourself to the biblical gospel HERE) as our flesh is not dead yet and fighting against us .... Romans 8:6-8 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Hermano Tupos and I rarely ever buy food from restaurants whether they be fast food or regular so it's always a shock when we see prices that people pay just for something to eat and add on that we travel the country and everywhere we look is a restaurant of some sort and they're usually always busy, then add to that all the pre-made food in the grocery stores and all the selections of 'new' and 'different' to inflame the lust of the flesh. It's sad because food is something good that God created and we can't live without it and it's not sinful to enjoy it but many have their belly as their god whether literal or figurative. Philippians 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) "Who mind earthly things"...says a lot, their mind is on earthly things first, not that which is godly. Reminds me of the Israelites.... Numbers 11:4-6 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes. God rescued then from Egypt and before that, He made sure they were well taken care of...... Exodus 12:35-36 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians. God was even kind to think of their fear when escaping Egypt..... Exodus 13:17-18 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt. God does all those things for them and MUCH MORE yet they live in the lust of their flesh in many ways but in keeping in context of this audio, they were swept away by the lust of the flesh in food. They were whining about food even though God provided for them.... Manna from heaven. God Himself, fed them every day, from heaven and they were not thankful or satisfied. Exodus 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat. I love this .... Nehemiah 9:19-21 Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go. Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not. God was such a good provider, giving them everything they needed so they didn't have to worry about earthly things, their clothes didn't get old and their feet swelled not. But that wasn't good enough. Because of their stuff necked, selfish, rebellion against God, He killed many of them. The same lusting goes on today, especially here in America the land of plenty, like Sodom and Gomorrah full of bread, people being swept away by their bellies. God will provide for His people today.... Matthew 6:25-33 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. I often ponder, what if saints had manna every day instead of all these choices and different foods we have? Would we be satisfied or would we be wanting what we used to have or looking at the world, wanting what they have? ???Would manna be enough or would we want more??? 1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. Amén. Gloria a Dios!
