I'm thanking the Lord for another day to travel down the GOSPEL road out here in van life and I'm bringing another tip that might help some of you out there even if you live in a house:-) We use a generator for power so I don't have an endless supply of energy for a refrigerator so we use a cooler that we put ice in to keep things cool, one item being half and half for coffee. I've been wanting to find a different way to cream up our coffee without depending on the cooler (especially when we're in the desert areas on BLM land away from towns for several days) and I tried a few and thought I'd share the results with you. I tried non fat instant dry milk and it was okay but I had to use a lot in order for it to mellow out the sharp coffee taste and it overpowered it all, not being a good option. (BTW...We don't drink much coffee 1-2 cups each day and it's instant so I can make it lighter than brewed.) Next I tried some of these coffee creamer pods and they work great but they're kind of pricey (I had a coupon for the ones I bought) I had to use several for each cup and they take up a lot of space and can easily be crushed. They were a good option but I kept looking... I bought a small container of this kind of dry creamer, knowing that the ingredients weren't the best (not horrible though) but thought I could use a little of this with less coffee creamer pods to cut the cost and it worked out great but I still kept looking. Then I saw something I hadn't seen on the shelves before...whole milk powder and it ended my searching as it's great in coffee! I use my milk frother to mix it and it's rich, creamy and it makes my other milk drinks (iced coffee, golden milk, chai tea etc.) taste awesome. Go HERE and you'll see a post on dry milk and in that post is a link to my milk frother and how I use it.
Hopefully this Titus 2 tip helps you out as well:-) Comments are closed.
