Titus 2 / Proverbs 31 Encouragement

2/3/2026

Picture
We're still out here traveling and preaching the life saving truth, the gospel, which you can test yourself to HERE.  Along the way, I'm still doing my Titus 2 / Proverbs 31 duties which I share a a few glimpses on this post.  (You can also go to the van dwellers blog HERE and see more of our life as saints out on the gospel road.)
Psalm 121:7-8
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
We stopped at a thrift store and I saw this box of sheets for plant coverage and thought those of you who are gardeners might appreciate it.
Picture
I used to have a big box of old sheets for just that purpose because where I used to garden (up north in Wisconsin) the nights could easily dip into frost temps even in the summer and especially early fall.  It's amazing how purposeful a big piece of material, like a sheet, is.  You can also make clothing or curtains or whatever you can sew, from some sheets depending on the material and it costs way less than buying it from a roll. Simple frugal ideas.
Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

We had just finished a preach (you can see that HERE) and got it up online when I looked across the parking lot and saw a Mexican food store so I took a witness walk.
Picture
They love their peppers, from bold to spicy hot!  We've appreciated some of them over the past few months, trying a few different kinds and even liking those that are pickled.

Here's an idea / tip.....
Picture
Brother Tupos bought me a can of water chestnuts a while ago as a surprise and we've been buying them lately to put in our rice dishes.  Here's a simple tip for cutting them up right in the can. Carefully take the lid that you cut off and push it up and down, turning the can after each cut and you'll get most of them cut into smaller pieces if that's what you like.

There's a few stores that I like to go witness walks and check out their clearance on their specialty foods and sometimes I find some really good deals.
Picture
The Lord is too good to provide such nutrient rich foods (for great prices) for us out here on the gospel road.  Brother Tupos dried fruit drawer has not run empty the whole time we've been out here on the gospel road.  It makes me think about how the Lord sustained the Israelites in the desert. (Definitely not the same magnitude but I give Him the glory for even these 'small' things.)
Deuteronomy 29:5
And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.
I was blessed to find a few boxes of decent macaroni and cheese for next to nothing on my cash back apps....
So I re-hydrated some peas and corn from our freeze dried stash, mixed in some left over hamburger, cooled it off and it made 2 good meals for us. Notice the yummy tomatoes in the background that I found discount for $1.50 each.
I thought I'd share with you my meal making containers.
One is filled with tuna, one of chicken and one of precooked rice and precooked pasta.  All I have to do is take a protein (chicken or tuna) and add it to a package of precooked rice or precooked pasta, toss in whatever veggies I already have on hand and I have a really fast, hearty, healthy meal that cost very little since I found almost all of it on great discounts. This is a good thing to think about in your own home, having some simple, toss together meals for 'those days':-)  It works great out here in van life because the meals come together in minutes and we don't have to use a lot of the generator for cooking.
Picture

I forgot to take a picture of my other container that's filled with chili, soup, tomatoes and a few other things that I can toss together to stretch a can of soup.  Here I just added a can of tomatoes I found on discount to a can of chili from the dollar store to make a big pot with left overs.  There are days I cook ahead with pasta or my dry rice (thermal cooking) but these such convenience foods for just us two end up being regular, very frugal meals and great for this traveling life.
Picture
I'll do a quick recipe on this some time but I'll just say it was awesome.  I roasted sweet potatoes in the air fryer, put them at the bottom of the bowl, added hot meat on top, cheese, tomatoes, pickles and chopped cabbage. I topped it with a mixture of mayo, mustard and ketchup for a delicious, easy, filling meal.  I'm so thankful for all the healthy things I can easily cook out here in my mini home on wheels.  If you're interested in a couple more recipes, click each picture below.

I was doing a witness walk through a thrift store and going to put some gospel cards out (books are a great place to do that) and saw this title....

DIY = Do It Yourself
I love that because in this technology age where we can get any sort of information, instructions and 'how to' online, there are a LOT of things we can do ourselves.  Sadly the youth today are being brought up to have others do it for them but the saints of God should be frugal, resourceful and wise in learning how to do much themselves.  Knowledge like that can go a long way especially when times are hard and end times coming where all the conveniences may be taken away and life being much different.  Ponder what things you might be able to learn how to do for yourself instead of relying on others.
Proverbs 10:4
He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Where did I find this????
Picture
In the middle of the desert by a garbage can:-)  We've been in the desert areas (BLM and LTVA you can learn about them at the van dwellers blog link above) and by the garbage was that bobbin.  Picture thousands of RV's and vans and trucks and cars all camping out all over thousands of acres of desert and finding a bobbin in the midst of it....made me laugh.  I sorta miss my sewing machines but it's a small price to pay for being out here for the Lord.  I can sew a lot by hand, just like they used to have to do.  A DIY moment:-)
Exodus 35:25-26
And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen. And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats' hair.

I talk about being frugal a lot, which is a good thing to do because what we have belongs to the Lord so we use our resources with wisdom.  I'm always on the look out for discounts, dent bent stores etc. and we rejoice when we can stock up on things that we need and sometimes find special treats at incredible deals.
Picture
This makes me smile because we rejoice over such little things like a .99 cent pint of ice cream (dent & bent) and a .99 cent coffee (from the app), splitting them both between us.  We rarely eat ice cream so it's a great treat for us and we laugh about it because we actually ponder before buying it whereas the world is all about such things without thinking.  We preached at a big RV show (see that post HERE) and saw all the foods they have, one being homemade ice cream for....get this....$7 for a dish!  We consider a little container of ice cream for .99 cents and the world goes and does such things (expensive foods) as normal.  It's just another way of being called out of the world, not following your flesh and being mindful of all things.
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I love this.....
Picture
We did a witness walk through a flea market (not sure why they call them that, sorta an icky name) and I saw that retractable clothes line.  I didn't buy it because I don't need it, I have a husband that is a DIY man and he strings me up ropes if I need extra hanging space over and above my slide out poles on the back of the van.  He's a great DIY man for many things and I'm thankful for him but most of all because he loves the Lord and his life shows it:)
¡Gracias Padre por mi esposo!
Picture
I also saw this alarm clock (didn't buy it:-)  I grew up with such things, winding it up and it going off to whatever time you set it.  Thing of it is, those things make a lot of noise all night long....tick, tick, tick, tick, but it's something you just got used to. I don't think I ever had one of those clocks not go off at the time it was supposed to, not like the technology we have today where sometimes the alarm on my phone doesn't want to work, the phone malfunctions or the battery drains or something like that.  Time is short, it's ticking away.....are you prepared to meet thy God?????
Amos 4:12-13
Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

Picture
We were in the Yuma Az area for a while, going into town for preaching and then out on some BLM land and whenever we went into town, we stopped at a produce stand owned by a Señor Gonzales.  Great prices, great produce (awesome kiwi!) and best of all, each time we got to share gospel cards and one time we ran into a van load of German Baptists, see that post HERE.
Picture
I would make you a cup of chai tea with some healthy snacks if I could.  Notice the light in the background, it's one of the solar lights I got from the dollar store.  I'm thankful for all the solar we have because it's like we get to harvest light from God and He lights up our van in the dark.
Psalm 18:28
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
Speaking of light in the darkness....
Picture
Out on BLM camping land, we have more freedom so we can open up our back doors by the bed and I can lay there and look out, seeing the moon rise:-) Having a bit of privacy out here is rare so when we can do such things or even sit outside at night, is a great gift.  On that, I'll let you go for now and pray that you are seeking first the kingdom of God, obeying our Master and......
Mark 12:30-31
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Gracia y paz en Cristo, Rey de Reyes!
