Down the gospel road we go, out here preaching the gospel (test yourself to it HERE) and all along my Titus 2 / Proverbs 31 duties are still going as I'm sure yours are as well. Here are a few thoughts and glimpses into the life of a holy woman loving the Lord, seeking to encourage others to do the same. Click the picture above to see my godly garden that goes down the gospel road with us:-) I was in a store doing a witness walk and saw all these clothes laying on the floor....all over the place. In the food aisles I saw boxes laying on the floor, spilled things here and there and thought about how I can usually tell what kind of town we're in based on the looks and upkeep (or down keep) of the stores. (Most often it happens in college towns or in some of the states where people have a chip on their shoulder about how their ancestors have been treated many years past.) I was thinking how women are to be the keepers of their homes and while there could be times where things are on the floors and the house is a chaotic mess, it shouldn't be the norm. We see in Proverbs 31, I love this verse 18, 'her candle goeth not out by night'. That means we don't just stop at night and let it all sit until the next day, (obviously there could be those times because of circumstances) we women, generally, will keep working until we get to a satisfying point of having a decently kept home, even if we're tired. Sometimes it keeps going and going but the Lord gives us the strength to keep at it. Just some encouragement to press through each day, doing our best for the Lord. Philippians 4:19-20 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Many years ago before Christ, I was a waitress, cook and dishwasher and you really have to have a steadiness about you to keep up with the busy times. Much like being a mother of many children, you have to be many things in that job. (Most women do no matter what situation they are in.) Mother, nurse, cook, laundromat worker, taxi, busser (that's the people who pick up dirty dishes in restaurants) dishwasher, maid, stocker, (of pantries and cabinets) accountant of bills, helper to husband etc.....Good homework assignment, go think of all the roles you fill for the Lord and give Him all the glory for it! Let us serve Him with joy and thanksgiving, not like this: Deuteronomy 28:47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things Same brother did a couple reviews on a saw (HERE) and a fan (HERE) for the van dwellers page that you might be interested in. I like tools and working with them as it's something I did a lot of in my past and I was thankful for what I could do with those tools and today.... imagine what God can do with us as His tools if we're truly a vessel to be used by Him!!! Read Proverbs 31 for encouragement on that, it's one of my favorite passages. I wanted to share this picture because what I paid for that (almost pound of meat) and cheese is less than what most people pay for a half pound of meat from the deli. It's amazing to me how people just walk by, grab things and toss them into their carts. I know I've said it before and I'm saying it again but truly, it just baffles me that they could care less about the money they spend that they have to work hard to earn. It truly is like Sodom and Gomorrah, full of bread (go look it up in Ezekiel 16) and the eating / drinking going on without a care in the world it seems. Let us, that name the name of Christ, be thankful for every bite of food we have as it's a blessing of the Lord and He deserves the praise and thanksgiving. Matthew 15:36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. I think about that, back then, with all those people with nothing to eat and today, everyone can go grab something from a grocery store or fast food etc. We have so many things at our fingertips today, I constantly remind myself to be thankful and not expect it just because this is our culture that is filled with ease. Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. I saw this sign at a thrift store.... My grandma used to say that and many other older words that people don't use today. It's strange all the slang words that come and go from one generation to the next....but the word of the Lord stands forever! 1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. We were at a laundromat and while they were washing, we took a walk and saw this: I hung them all over the van to dry while we drove to our next town. Sometimes they take many hours and I'm ducking around clothes but I don't care, it makes me smile at the blessing I have of clean clothes. Just a thought for you, what do you have to do in your godly woman duties that you get tired of but are truly blessings. Oftentimes it's a matter of perspective and what you focus on, rather like the worldly saying 'the glass is not half empty, it's half full', We have the word of God and our focus on Him to keep our perspective right don't we?! Brother in van life shared that picture with brother Tupos and I wanted to use it for a point here. He's in a park, studying the word of God and I wanted to note that in van life, we don't have a yard so parks are like our back yards. Maybe for some of you, living in an apartment without any yards, parks would be like your yard as well. We've had some people question whether saints should go to parks as they will see people walking around without many clothes on but guess what....it's nothing that you won't see in a grocery store, driving down the street or anywhere in the world. Don't box yourself in by trying to avoid everything of the world otherwise you'd have to go out from it. 1 Corinthians 5:10 talks about it similarly. Brother also sent this pic to brother Tupos, an old Bible he saw. It makes me think of how many people, to their condemnation, have Bibles in their homes (or in their hands on Sunday mornings) but don't repent and obey it. We hope to help some see the light and get to that point but in the end, God will be taking care of all that. I took a picture of a scripture verse in my Spanish bible that a man gave us a while back (listen to the audio HERE)....and we sent it to brother. It's John 14:6. I can speak, in Spanish, Jesus is the way the truth and the life and at some point I will add the rest but in between, I'm still working on adding phrases to my memory. (Goes along with me not beating myself up for my lesser memory as my age increases:-) I have a pretty big list of phrases and I try to memorize the ones that have corresponding words so that they become second nature but one day at a time and a little here and there and Lord willing, He will help me grow it and I hope to use it to His glory and maybe help someone. This kinda goes along with Proverbs 31 reaching my hand to the needy as my Spanish neighbors are needy in the truth. Some glimpses into what's going on out here on the gospel road. I'm thankful to be a godly woman, able to do good works unto the One who made the way for us to do so. I hope your good, godly works are going well and that you have peace and joy in your heart, singing praises unto Him!
Love to you all, wherever you are, around the world! Sister Aman Comments are closed.
