Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. I'm back again to share a bit of Titus 2 / Proverbs 31 encouragement with you. Maybe it'll edify you and show you that we all have many of the same duties to do and we can rejoice in our day to day works unto the Lord. In the last post I shared this... Chicken chili for $1.25 / can and since then we've tried this also at the same price and I added some rehydrated peas and corn and it was really good. I'm thankful for simple foods with decent ingredients at a good price. More soup deals: I found this tomato soup for $1.25 also at the same dollar store.... ...and then as I went for a witness walks through an organic store I saw the same soup for $5.39 and Walmart for a bit over $3. (Had a great conversation with a woman in the organic store when she saw my gospel bag!) Not all those dollar stores carry them and they're not always going to so if I find more of them I'll stock up. They're delicious and even brother Tupos said so. I've learned over the years to weigh the pros and cons of cooking everything myself vs buying some of them, like soup / stews. I used to do most of it from fresh and by doing so would save some money but along with that (remember we're in van life) came the time to prepare it, finding the place to do it, planning ahead and storing left overs etc. Since there's only 2 of us, one can is enough and add to it a few finger foods and we have a fast, nourishing meal without all the other hassles. Keep in mind that out here on the gospel road, there are no guaranteed set spots to just go, park and stay so we're always on the move and we never know when we get an opportunity to get out on the streets or come by an event at the last minute and go out, so planning meals ahead doesn't always work well. I'm thankful that there are simple options for us and I share all this because there may be some of you with lives that are so packed full that it makes sense to do something similar. Go HERE to see a simple recipe from a brother in van life. We were out on the streets at a college preaching the gospel and talking to students and afterwards we went to the marketplace to rest and work online putting up the post. I went up and got us coffee and I came back to brother Tupos laughing about it, saying that in years past I wouldn't have liked getting older but today I'm thankful for my age (the Lord was merciful not to kill me in all my wicked sins before being born again) and I've graduated to the senior coffees:) (Some places sell them at .46 cents each:-) I thought of this.... Proverbs 31:25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. Go look up the word 'rejoice'.... She laughs, mocks, makes merry of the time to come, meaning not worried or concerned as she's prepared. I referenced this because in my wicked pride filled life before Christ, I worried about looking older, getting older physically and not being able to do what I used to but today, in the Lord, I laugh at age and what comes with it because it means I'm getting closer to the end...and that end means a new beginning with the Lord if I endure. Test yourself to the biblical gospel HERE to see what your end could be. A few glimpses into some more good works from a godly woman. Rejoice in the Lord and sing praises unto Him while you go about your works that you were created for!
