Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Here I share some good works to encourage other women to do their good works:-) Remember, good works mean nothing if you aren't a woman who fears the Lord and wants to please Him as a born again child of God. Don't do good works under a false gospel, test yourself HERE to the biblical one. We were in the midst of a foggy, drizzly season here so I couldn't be doing much for hand washing clothes for a while and it makes for a lot of dampness in our little van home of which I had to dry things out when we got a day of sun. Van life has a lot of challenges but we just roll with it and do what we can. Speaking of water, I had to replace our water filter in my pitcher that I use for filtering when the city water doesn't seem the freshest or something. One of the challenges of van life is that we're often in cities that don't have good drinking water so I do my best to filter when needed. I used to worry about such things because we had nice well water on the homesteads but out here on the road, we give it all to the Lord and just be happy with what we get. It makes me think of this....kind of.... Luke 10:8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: I saw that in a store and thought it was an interesting concept and eye catching for sure. Soup is good but it's hard for me to fathom people paying so much money for such things. They had a few pots to choose from, keeping them warm from inside the bar. It made me think of a 3 place slow cooker / warmer that I found at a thrift store many years ago on the homestead. It looked something similar to this: I only paid $2 for it. Women today are blessed to have many different helpful tools for the homes but I constantly warn about being careful to not get swept away in it all. I was thankful to have found an incredible deal on a big package of chicken breasts so I cut up many meals and while I was at it, I chopped up the last of our veggies from the produce depot (you can see that post HERE.) Go HERE if you want a simple salad recipe. We were in a park and the front of the van was parked in a way that nobody would see it so I hung my hand washed socks on it. Out here in van life you learn to drop what you're doing if you have an opportunity to do something else, like wash and dry clothes. The same goes for in a home / homestead, learning to be flexible and doing what you can when you can, rejoicing and being thankful. Brother Tupos has a well used thermos water bottle that's still in really good condition but the wind caught his gospel sign and it knocked the bottle out of his hand, breaking the top...but he found a way to fix it. He also had to exchange our generator that was free on warrantee which we're thankful for. I'm thankful for that power to run my cooking appliances:-) We all know how wonderful it is to have clean bedding and that's what got done last week (as well as the laundry). I was originally just going to do our laundry (which I couldn't hand wash because of the weather) but when I saw how inexpensive the washers and dryers were, I couldn't pass it up. It's not something I do a lot of because it is so costly and we're usually clean when we go to bed. That's one thing that some women are fanatic about, washing bedding all the time. It's not sinful but it's a lot of work, water and power that isn't as necessary as most people make it, and I'd rather use my time on other things and only do it when it needs to be done. I've been making cold brew teas lately, one being hibiscus I found on discount and the other being a sort of chai tea that I add milk, a bit of sweetener and ice for a refreshing drink. That's a sign for a park we stopped at a while ago. (It made me smile and I thought it would for you too.) I needed to wash my hair so we were blessed to find this park (:-) and it was a great place for showers too. Hair washing for a godly woman in van life can be a challenge so I rejoice when it's possible and not have to hurry or be concerned about having to pack up and leave or something. I was blessed to be able to wash clothes as well and brother Tupos refilled the water. Check this out... They had sinks at the park but it would have taken a long time doing one cup at a time so he got some supplies together to make it easier. Press and hold the button down and let it fill up. He's really good at coming up with ideas like this with what he has on hand and has plans to improve it for the future:-). He also came up with this idea... Our chairs are inexpensive and also really uncomfortable because they make you hunch forward so he tried this and it worked great to tilt the chair backwards just enough to be more comfortable. Since then he's come up with an even better idea that I'll share soon (I forgot to take pics:-) Brother Tupos has been wearing more tunics made with the bottom part of a t-shirt so we were thankful to find some on sale. You can see how to make them HERE. HERE's a new recipe and before I go I'll share some glimpses into more godly woman works that got done. Proverbs 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. I hope all your godly works are done in thankfulness, peace and joy.
