Here's a video of getting our well drilled in 2016 when we first started the homestead. Praise God for the precious gift of water but nothing compared to... John 4:14 We've had some time here on the homestead to catch up on projects and one of those was making a couch, which cost about $25. I'll share the process. Brother James built the frame while I worked on covering the cushion base.  We used a piece of foam that we slept on in the back of our mini van on our first mission trip. (That was a challenge for 2 adults living in a mini van lol but the Lord gave us what we needed and we were thankful for it all.) So I just laid it on the fabric and lined it up so I could cut off the extra.  Brother James cut a board for the bottom so I could staple the cover to it. (Funny thing, one of my jobs long ago was in a factory stapling covers on cushions for a seating company then building the seats. lol)  And this fold is what maids use in hotels to make the beds because they don't all have fitted sheets. Works great and makes a neat corner.  I don't have a before picture of the place when we first got it with bad carpeting (orange) and multicolored everything in it. I tore out the carpet and sanded some old (repurposed) oak boards and brother Jim laid us a solid old looking floor in it. (Low maintenance) What you will see is a before and after picture of what it was recently after we did some work in here and now what it is with the new couch. (Which is super comfy by the way and the pillows were all from thrift stores.)  We use as many recycled materials as we can and therefore be frugal with the resources the Lord has entrusted to us. |
