Greetings to sisters who have died to self and love the Lord! We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 1 John 3:14 I've been pondering that lately, among many other topics, and I've been thinking that loving the brethren also means standing on the truth over and above fellowship with one in sin. If we allow a sister to remain in her sins, we don't love her, we hate her. Yep, I'll say we hate her because her end will be eternal destruction if she doesn't repent and if someone could care less about the person and more about not hurting feelings or overlooking sins to their demise (and denying God His glory)....to me that's hate. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15 Exactly! Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16 That can happen in many ways, laying down our lives but the one I'm thinking about lately is laying down our flesh, as believers doing the hard things, and keeping sin out of the body from those who refuse to see their sins and repent. This honors God and shows one way of true love of the brethren, hoping the sinner be ashamed and repent to the saving of their soul. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 2 Thessalonians 3:13-15 Interesting that right after that it says this... Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 I know it's the ending of the letter but it's also true that we do have peace by all means through Christ when we obey His word, even in topics such as this. 💧💧💧💧☔💧💧💧💧 We have a rainy day (and it looks like the next few days) so we're in the marketplace working online and witnessing when opportunities arise. In fact as I was typing this I saw a small shuttle service bus dropping off a woman in a wheelchair with another young woman (who looked muslim) pushing her so I opened the doors for them, giving the pushing woman a gospel card saying that Jesus made the narrow way and He said to love our neighbors. I find that most often the Muslims won't even smile or sometimes purposely look away but she was very friendly (maybe because I was holding the doors) but she took the gospel card and hopefully will read it and see the love of Christ from a neighbor. We were at our campspot the other day (you can see that post HERE) and there were lots of dandelion flowers all over. (I used to harvest the leaves and roots for teas - 'sposed to be a good internal cleanser:) so I took a few pics and then after looking at them thought of something..... One picture is of a young flower and the next of what happens when it matures. Both fulfilling what God created them to do, both are amazing creations. Those of you who have followed along know that I love this.... Doth not even nature itself teach you...... 1 Corinthians 11:14 Scriptures use many illustrations of nature and so I like to also. I was thinking about that fresh young looking yellow flower and how it will eventually mature and become white. Rather like us women who all start out fresh and young and through age, we mature and become white (gray), scattering our seeds (GOSPEL, truth and witness) and then dying and going back into the ground. It's the cycle of life and one not to fear in Christ. I wrote a post a couple years ago called "Growing old Gratefully" HERE that might encourage you:) We went on a long witness walk in a mall of a big city, you can see that HERE along with some other witnessing encounters from the recent past. We're still in the same town and since it's raining we might go back for a while and see what happens:) The Lord knows and we sister saints just go about the works He has set before us. I hope your day goes well, doing all things unto the Lord who deserves our praise. Much love to you all, in godly love, through Christ! Sister Aman Comments are closed.
