Note: We have placed a special message on John424 radio for the people of Ebenezer Amish Mennonite Church of Oskaloosa Kansas because..... we love them. See that link HERE: ( hit control F and search Ebenezer ) ***************************************** We had to go through this nice little Kansas town and we ran into several Mennonites and got to witness to them. We even called their phone number and their leadership but they did not respond after we left them a message. It was sad as the men had no biblical gospel and could not even reason in the Word. They just defend and cling to man made traditions and pagan ways but ....NOT..... God's Word alone! We stopped at their building to talk with them after their religious services. I got to preach the word of God, and much truth to many of them, as they left the building. Here is a highlight of what we witnessed on that day: * While I admit I did indeed boldly proclaim the gospel to them in a way they are not used to (I confronted their sin and held my bible up and used it ) and I called out the various false traditions of the Mennonite denomination; we also told them we loved them and were concerned for their souls and that was why we were there. See the biblical gospel HERE. *The men did not have the ability to go to God's Word and defend or reason in the scriptures. They all carried bibles but they cannot use them. They simply refused to be tested to God's Word and most of the men refused to even open their bibles though 2 of the men did finally after I asked many times. *One man told me that Jesus worshiped in a temple when I confronted them about their man made building centered worship mindset . I informed them that Jesus death did away with that building centered worship and that now we are the temple of the holy spirit. ( that temple was made by God, not man by the way! ) They had no reply. *One man after I asked many times... read Mark 7:6-9 for me. They told me I was disrespectful for calling them out of their sins. I showed them Jesus clearly called out the sins of the Pharisee types in Mark 7 / They had no reply. *One young man quoted 2 Thessalonians 2 saying they needed their traditions for raising their families. I showed him he was taking Paul out of context as he said keep HIS traditions NOT Mennonite traditions. His reply was..... I was unteachable. (The Word tells us to test all things 1 Thess 5:21 and his teaching was faulty.) *They asked me if Jesus would act like me, (boldly proclaiming the word of God/calling out sin to religious but unbiblical people). I reminded them Jesus cleansed the temple with a whip in John 2 and He called the Pharisees many names in Matt 23. They had no reply. *One lady told me I was disrespectful for not speaking with the man who I witnessed to for an hour the day before as he wanted nothing to do with going to God's Word. I informed them that even Jesus ignored some men and would not answer them. They had no reply. *One man said I was too harsh in my preaching / words. I reminded them Paul said the Jews teaching circumcision should... "emasculate themselves" in Galatians 5:12 / They had no reply. * We noticed the men who I witnessed to the day before when we talked alone where timid, unable to stand and reason in the Word but when with their group they became mockers and very pharisee like. ( a mob mindset perhaps....) * They told me I was unloving for rebuking them due to their sin. I showed them Galatians 2 where Paul rebuked Peter and they had no reply. *They told me I had a bad spirit! I showed them the Pharisees told Jesus he had a demon in Mark 3. They had no reply. *They defended their use of man's names (Menno and Ammon) and they disregarded what 1 Corinthians 1:12 says about having no divisions. *The defended their practices of pagan holidays (Christmas and Easter) by saying they do it unto God but could NOT refute that God's Word commands His people do not do as pagans do per Jeremiah 10 and 2 Corinthians 6. *They told me I should NOT judge then they went on to wrongly judge me over and over. They acted as total hypocrites! I showed them 1 Corinthians 5, Matthew 18 and Matthew 7 that says we are to judge the body rightly. They had no reply. *They asked us what denomination we were but could not show us where the bible teaches denominations. *One young man boldly told me to repent! When I asked for what, biblically? He said I had a bad attitude. I asked for scripture on that to show me my sin? He had no reply. Their sign says "ALL ARE WELCOME" but after they could not refute my preaching or points with God's Word they asked us to leave and we did! (We again told them we loved them and one man said "we love you too, now leave!" (More hypocrisy.) *Several of them admitted openly many Mennonites will go to hell as lukewarm believers. But they all got angry when I said the same thing in love as I pleaded with them to repent of their false ways. *One man tried to go off in their usual pet sin territory (divorce/remarriage and non resistance) but he was more than happy to over look their own sin. More hypocrisy.... *The women, children and the men all mocked us, scorned us, sneered and told us they feel sorry for us. I asked why biblically and they had no reply. They laughed and acted very smug and Pharisee like. (They are all very -unbiblically-neat and dressed up on the outside but it is clear their hearts are darkened to God's truth.) They offered no biblical correction nor did they show ANY love to us. (Jesus said love your enemies but they didn't even love a man who is a brother preaching Christ. What does that say about them?) *One man told me I was in sin. I asked how sir? He said your boasting. I informed him Paul told me to indeed "boast in Christ" in 1 Corinthians 1:31 as I lifted up my bible. He had no reply. *One man asked me if I thought boldly preaching this way would be effective as people just do not like it. I asked him if the religious people and Pharisees of Jesus day liked His message or Paul's or Peters preaching and just why were they all killed sir? He had no reply! *Even though they tried to paint me as a bad spirit; they obviously saw me as NO real threat as they allowed their young children/woman to be right near us listening the whole time. One small boy even asked me a question and he was defending Easter Sunday. More evidence of their pagan ways there. Note: some of their children were allowed to run off and play in mixed groups and even showed signs of unruliness that surprised us! *One man told me they won't argue and I informed them Paul disputed with the Jews in Acts 17...was that sinful? They had no answer. *One man asked me if I was called to preach and I said indeed the word tells me to preach and exhort and rebuke in season and out. 2 Timothy 4:2 and he had no reply. *I reminded them of their dry, man run, dead ritual service that starts at 10:45 and ends by 12:30 pm each week. Yet Paul preached till midnight and taught a spirit led gathering NOT a Mennonite man led one. They had no reply. *One man told me I would be better off to go witness at Walmart. When I asked 'why don't Mennonites need the truth too' he admitted yes they do. (He was smug as a Pharisee can get.) *With the ladies acting that way, I reminded them they are acting as a group that has been feminized as well and they all laughed. * I told them their all "all are welcome" sign is sin as Christ's blood alone buys our way into His body yet they allow others to just walk in to a so called worship with them openly. It is sinful!! *We did see several moved by God's truth. One lady yelled out that I was right about their pagan holidays and she admitted they have sin there but where is she is to go to church? They have taught her Hebrews 10:25 is about Sunday gathering and it is not. (She eventually walked away crying seeming convicted by the spirit and my wife gave her a gospel card. *I asked them all...am I standing before a bunch of Pharisees as they are not all that different then the Baptist or Methodist's down the street "in their hearts" and man made theology. They were all silent. *At the end, they all gathered around in their own little circle excluding us as if we are NOT part of the body of Christ. They made NO biblical case why we should be excluded but they clearly excluded us in a unloving way. Though often they were silent and had no reply biblically .... they remained in their sneering and laughing at my attempts to bring them God's deeper truth. Sadly, we learned a lot this day. We were quite astonished at the level of Pharisee ways in them, their sneering at the Word of God being proclaimed (all I did was quote scripture and reason ) and the LACK of love they displayed for other believers. The words of Jesus never rang more true to us. In Mark 7 He says they worship with lips but hearts are far from Him. They were all VERY dressed up, so perfect to a tee and looking so pure, clean, religious and pious on the outside; but in their hearts... they are numb to God's full Word when proclaimed as they opt for manno-nite made false ways instead! We saw that all so clearly in this man made religious body of Mennonites and it made us sad as we want more for them! It is so obvious to us that they are taught to cling to the sermon on the mount ways most of all ( meekness ) ignoring much of God's scripture/truth in the process. Sadly they do not even live that out (meekness) when tested with God's Word in person. They were not meek towards us? I told them they were sinning with meekness meaning... they are so blind by their man made false ways they could sin and not see it as they focus only on being meek. (They ignore sin and continue in that sin and just be meek.) Perhaps my bold preaching calling out their sins was a shock to them. Sadly there was not one offer to sit and reason in the word at someones home or at another time. They just wanted me to stop talking about the Word of God and leave so they could go. Note: There is a standing offer to their leadership to meet and open our bibles and I would like them to teach me their biblical stance on the issues our tract raises against their sinful ways. Why not before their whole body? I will quietly listen and take notes then would like to ask them questions biblically. Any Titus 1 elder should be able to teach others with sound doctrine....but will they? In love, we simply asked them to test themselves 1 Thessalonians 5:21 and come out of the sin of their man made Mennonite (man-nonite) ways. We pray God's truth will grow in some of them and that they leave man made Mennonite ways for God's glory. Jesus said this:
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35 We loved them.... We ask: Did they keep this command towards us? Comments are closed.
