* Garbanzo Beans/chickpeas * 2 Teaspoons oil * Salt to taste * Few teaspoons of left over water from the can Put it all in a food processor until smooth. You may need to add a bit more oil or water as you blend, you'll get the hang of it after the first time, it's super easy. I have some garlic flavored olive oil but you can use any kind you want. I don't like olive oil that leaves that weird taste so I get one that super mild, some people use regular canola oil and such so use whatever you like. There are all sorts of recipes online to flavor hummus the way you want to and they use all sorts of other ingredients that I'm sure are good but I have no desire for all that. I find that my basic recipe is good enough for us and I can spend my time on more important things. As I write this post, the garbanzo beans are .80 cents / can, that's a lot less than $3 for a container premade! My food processor cost $14 so making hummus 5 times has more than paid for it. I'm thankful for simple van life foods that the Lord provides and allows us to have. Sister Aman Comments are closed.
