Greetings once again sister saints! I truly hope you are striving on, overcoming all things through Christ! Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 Let's keep reading and see what happened... But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1 Corinthians 10:5-11 I'm sorry all that happened against our Lord but I'm thankful that it was written about for our admonition and warnings (of what not to do). There are a lot of those in the scriptures aren't there and if we sisters were to write down what we did that we shouldn't have, or didn't do that we should have, it would most likely be much also. (BTW...Take note of what happened to those who murmured, that means grumble). For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. Galatians 6:3 We're no better, we all have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, pressing on the best we can through the power of the Holy Spirit who is guiding, teaching and giving us the power to do so. They didn't have that precious gift like we do today, so we're without excuse. Let us strive to be GOOD examples to those who are following up behind us. I made an audio with a couple good examples and a couple bad ones, hopefully it encourages you.
In yesterday's post I mentioned about thankfulness in all things, even the repetitious duties that we sisters have. I was pondering that again today (while doing more repetitious work:-) and how the Lord is glorified in us when we go about it all on a daily basis. It might not seem like much at times; cooking, cleaning, helping others etc...but realize that God created Adam and then created Eve to be his helper, dressing and keeping the garden. And it was good. Sounds like that would have been repetitious type work doesn't it? Think about that and give thanks unto the Lord for being able to do all you do whether it be physical works or spiritual works, both of which we all do through our days if we truly are following after our Savior. I took you on a bit of our travels today, which were rather peaceful for a while because we were able to escape the horrendous traffic for a while lol...but we're back in an even bigger city, passing through on our way to our potential preach this weekend. Thankful the Lord allowed safe travels. Rejoice in the day!
Hold fast! Strive on! Love in Christ! Sister Aman |
