And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
When I look back at the Old Testament and the things they had to do or voluntarily did, it makes our life today look so easy in comparison. That verse is talking about a loyalty to his master and he's willing to have his ear pierced with an aul as a marker of it (of course we don't do that today to the temple of the Holy Spirit.) Then I think of many women we've met that claim His name, left the culture and say they want to obey Him in all the ways yet they let pride and vanity get in the way because they won't even dress or cover their temple the way the Lord commands. Let us be examples to those watching...
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Speaking of dying to self, I made a sister sharing audio that includes a similar topic (and some others) if you're interested.
The picture above is from the sister I talked about in the audio who said someone offered her husband a kidney. She said he picked that rose for her before he died and she put the scriptures with it. That picture can be a remembrance of life or death and we all know that we are to focus on life, from Christ, and keep moving on, letting the past stay in the past and the future be whatever is the Lord's will. That sister is a great encouragement and she has seen the Lord protect her heart and give her strength to continue on in joy and peace.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Here are those birds I talked about in the video :-)
Brother James and I are so thankful to see God's creation as we go about this van life and oftentimes in the parking lots are where we see the most interesting things! We had a super busy weekend out on the streets at a busy parade and then along a busy tourist shopping street and then at a couple churches.
You can see the latest videos HERE and many others from when we were on the streets preaching the gospel. Brother James and I made a video on they way to one church...
The Lord is glorified when saints stand on and defend the truth.
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
On our way to stand for the truth against those synogogues of satan, I saw those porches and thought about how nice they would be, filled with the saints of God! Some day heaven will be filled with us all, if we overcome to the end.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
That's one sign I will be using this month to bring awareness to their blasphemous, pagan holiday. It was effective because I had a couple really good conversations with some women who were wondering why it was a lie. (I'll still be using my 'Fear God Repent' sign also.)
I saw these children's books as I was walking through the store and thought I'd share some thoughts on them...
It seems so innocent to have bears talking about praying for each other but is that something we should be teaching children? That bears talk and can pray to a holy God? Something to think about...
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
What about this one?
* They call it a big 'story'.
* They show nakedness.
* They reduce God's precious word to 5 minutes.
Things to think about...
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
And this one. It teaches boys that they just need a 'little' God time. And since when is the word of God for just boys...or just girls for that matter?
Think about it...
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
A little Titus 2 Time....
I'd cook you some dinner if I could!
I leave you with a glimpse of God's beautiful creation we saw as we were leaving the town we spent time witnessing in.
I'm thankful to be a daughter of the most High and share it with other sisters who love Him also.
Love to you all, in His mighty Name, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ, Immanuel, Savior Shepherd and many more wonderful and awesome names that can't describe Him.
The Lord was gracious and let us all come together here again. We've had a busy day in many ways and thankful to do the Lord's work. I made a quick video to encourage us cuz I love sharing with my sisters who love the Lord because He first loved us!
We love him, because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19
And let's read on...
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
1 John 4:20-21
If we love God and we have fruit (evidence) to show it, loving the brethren would have fruits of evidence also. Amen? That's why we sister saints should encourage one another every single day, showing we have true godly love.
Rest well sister saints and let's see if the Lord gives us another day.
Hello sister saints!
I hope your day was served in the joy of the Lord, doing all things unto Him! We were out in the streets today sharing the gospel (you can see that HERE) and made you an audio and a video.
Maybe that might be encouraging to some of you. I hope you rest well and let us thank the Lord for all He's done.
Hold fast, strive on, don't faint and rejoice in the Lord!
Sister Deb with brother James
Good day sister saints!
That picture above is one a sister sent a few days ago and with it text that scripture. I put it on the picture and returned it to her and thought I'd share it here for you also. She said that's from the mountain range close to where they live, way up north in another country. I'm blessed to know sister saints all over the world that love the Lord, are obedient to all His word, willingly do all the things godly women do without complaining (headcover, dress biblical, not be feminists) and love the other sisters in return (and the brethren as a whole.) I thought I'd just share some random pictures and thoughts of our time lately and maybe something from within it all might encourage you!
I'd make you a cup of coffee or tea or something while we talk about all sorts of good and godly things that sister saints do. Speaking of coffee, some people call it the "Christian drug" because it has caffeine in it. I'll start off on that by saying we drink instant now and use both regular and decaf, my servings are light and it lasts a long time so first off we are frugal in that. Next, we drink very little in the way of caffeine but there are times it's like a medicine especially for me. Third, caffeine is not sinful unless, like anything, it's abused. People can abuse food by eating too much. Sugar by having too much. Rest by having too much. See my point? Anyway, I'm not sure if I ever shared anything on caffeine before and me just say this....every single person that has said that to us is not living a biblical, holy life. Just sayin.
As we travel the southeast part of the country, we've been seeing a lot of these such signs and even smaller ones put about 10-15 feet high on telephone poles that call out repentance and faith in Christ. (Wondering how they got them up that high.) I hope the people putting them up are striving in all truth. The saddest thing about it is that in this day with technology, there's no website or contact info; there's no way to reach out if someone wanted more help in it all. That sign above, would have done absolutely NOTHING for me in that suicidal state I was in before Christ. I NEEDED THE GOSPEL!
(You can find that HERE and let us know how we can help you if you're confused.)
The bible doesn't just say proclaim the gospel....we're to do something after that if someone is seeking...
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Speaking of the gospel....we know a sister who's husband just died and her grown children wanted to do all the things the world does when that happens and she wanted nothing to do with it all. Since she was not going to be partaking of worldly events, she wanted to still be faithful and share the truth (none of her family claim to be born again saints). She took 2 tea cups and filled them with gospel cards and set them out. We rejoice in her faithfulness and we know one card was taken as she counted them before and after. That might seem disappointing to some, thinking that only one was taken, but we know how precious 'one' is.
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost,
until he find it?
We were on the streets the past couple days and many gospel cards were taken but even in that...if only one person is affected then we rejoice. No matter what people do with it, God is glorified when we are obedient in sharing it and I'm thankful for sisters who are diligent about that.
As I'm working on this post, another sister sent a picture of the gospel going out on a shop order she's sending off today! And a new sister mentioned the other day how we are great examples and encouragement which makes her want to be sharing the gospel also! Praise God for obedient sisters who love the Lord!
The picture of yogurt is evidence of another way the gospel can go out. I went into the store to wander around and see if there would be any witnessing to do and I saw an incredible deal on yogurt. I couldn't believe it so I saw a store worker in the freezer section behind me and asked him if he could verify it. He did and then walked off to finish stocking the freezer. I got my yogurt, walked back over to him, thanked him for his help again and gave him a gospel card as as I was walking away I saw him standing in the door of the freezer reading it. You can do that also sisters, ask for the location of an item, verify pricing, thank the workers for doing a good job and give them the gospel. Sometimes they want to talk and most times they receive it and continue working.
As I'm typing this, I remembered a woman from yesterday, who wanted a gospel card. We were at a busy festival proclaiming the gospel and I had just given out a gospel card to someone, turned to her and asked if she wanted one. She said "Oh yeah I do! Can you put it in my pocket for me?" (Her hands were full of festival food.) I had troubles holding my sign and moving her purse strap out of the way to do it and it took a bit of work on my behalf but while I was doing it, I said 'The word must be very important to you otherwise we wouldn't be going through this'. She said 'Oh it is, it is'. I said 'Good, test yourself and go deeper than man made religion is teaching you.' She heartily thanked me and off she went with a gospel card tucked into her pocket.
In van life, with limited space, we have to slide our signs in and out a small space which means they rub on each other and oftentimes need some freshening up, which is what we do before we go out. (I like that job:-) And see those zip ties? Brother James just bought me my very own pack of them so I can strap my sign to my walking stick when we go out. What a great witnessing tool, a gospel sign. We have them all over the van too and know a brother that just ordered some for his vehicle! There are so many ways to lift up Christ's name!
As we talk about lifting up Christ's name and what He has done, and what the world can do to gain eternal life through the gospel, we will suffer persecution because of it. (Thank you sister for that scripture verse.) That picture above has one of my favorite verses on it. It's hard hitting, blunt and we have no other course than to obey it. That goes for living in our weakened physical state also. Shed the flesh, get over it, get up and get going. We can lay around and moan about how hard things are, or our ailments or the mental or physical pain someone caused or we can get up and do our reasonable service unto the Lord, enduring that hardness as a good soldier.
I love seeing how nature teaches us and that tree above has had to endure hardness of hurricanes and tropical storms that have blasted the coast line throughout the years. It's standing strong and mighty year after year until it's time is over. Us saints have our time coming if we endure only we have a great promise ahead of us, unlike the tree which will just turn to dust in it's death.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:55-58
Persecution in His name might lead to jail time for some sisters like those in the past and some in foreign countries. It's coming to the free countries soon, the end times must be brought in for Christ to return. That picture made me think of sisters in jail with nothing taking away their joy.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Brother James jumper box came to good use for the gospel and to help someone again!
He saw a car hood open and went over to see if the person needed help. A woman was there and said her husband just went into the store to buy some jumper cables so brother James went in quickly to catch him. The man was just about to buy them when brother James told him he had a jumper box and would help him. The man was relieved because he had cables at home and didn't need another set. After it was all done, the gospel went out. That's a good tool to have because it's helped many people...they see us loving our neighbor and the truth gets given to them.
That jumper box would do nothing for these vehicles we saw on our travels, but the gospel given to the owners could save souls. Unfortunately we couldn't do anything about any of that but we do it ahead of time with all those we meet along the way. Be sure to do that in your lives sister saints...each soul is precious and needs that life saving truth.
While we were at a tourist pier preaching the gospel the other day, I walked out on it, took some pictures and talked to the people along the way. None wanted a gospel card but I did get to talk to that one woman sitting there and give her some truth.
I wanted to share this video with you of a really high and long bridge we went over and the video doesn't capture the awesomeness of God's creation.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Seeing all the salt and brackish back water here on the coast makes me so thankful for the fresh water we can find on the road.
A sister from across the world sent this picture of a water fountain because she knows we rejoice greatly when we find water on the road. What great blessings we are to be thankful for and not take for granted.
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is
I thought that van and camper was cute, we notice such things out here on the road living in a van. We would have reached out to witness to them if they had stopped by us but it wasn't to be. We did have our signs on the van so they, and others saw so we did our best. (Yes, we get a lot of opportunities to witness to other van/camper/car dwellers as it's a good door opener.)
Speaking of doors, lol, I thought you sisters might appreciate this picture. The moss, the old bricks and the cozy looking area would be a good place to sit and rejoice in the Lord. And since it's on the street of a downtown, it would be great to hand out gospel cards to anyone passing by:-)
A little Titus 2 Time. When I was in the store buying that yogurt, I walked through the produce section and saw these dragon fruit. What unique creation (that I have no clue what they taste like as they are expensive.)
And one more picture cuz I thought it was cute. (Nice way to use recycled materials.) Anyway sisters I have to go now. I hope you were edified and Lord willing I will be back again to share whatever might be encouraging to us all.
Hold fast and let us all glorify the Lord in our lives.
Good evening sister saints!
I want to share something with you that will encourage you and make you rejoice. We know a godly sister who has been striving in the faith for years, who just lost her husband, who was an unbeliever. She had to do a lot of the care giving for him in the last year and in her steadfast obedience to the Lord, her light shined brightly and many people saw her stand on God's Word. She didn't participate in all the pagan worldly events even though it brought mental and verbal persecution to her...she just kept steadfastly following after our Savior who is worthy. When her husband died, she had questions on how to tell her grown children she was not going to attend the wake or funeral (which are pagan, see an article on that HERE). We gave her some ideas on writing a letter and thoughts of what she could put into it. I asked her if i could share that and her message about how it went. Her response was this...
"And yes sister Deb you can use my message and letter to encourage other sisters. It all belongs to the Lord anyway but thank you for asking. "
Here's the letter she wrote...
And her message to us sisters about how it went after giving it to them...
We are rejoicing as she is having opportunities to share the truth (as she did with her sister at that time also.) Who knows who else she will be able to talk to through all this, without being part of it. We don't know who is watching from afar, how we saints deal with such things, and what a light we might be to them.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
God can use all situations for His glory if we are willing vessels to be used. Going back to our sister, her life as a wife is now done and God will have other works for her. I'll be looking to her to share edification for you sisters who are married to unbelievers or have lost husbands and are now fully serving the Lord on your own. One day at a time sisters, we do what the Lord has before us and if we don't grow weary, there's a great reward waiting in the end.
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Hold fast sister saints, endure hardess like a good soldier and hold fast the precious word and truth you have been given. I'm here to encourage you along.
Love in Christ our redeemer,
I hope you are all striving to bring glory to our King!
We received an email from someone about women in ministry so I made an audio with brother James, to refute it.
In that audio I mentioned another audio that I said I would post here.
I hope they encouraged you as much as they did for me making them. Go sisters, share the GOSPEL, shine your light and contend for the faith once delivered!
Love to you in Christ Jesus,
Sister Deb with Brother James
Good evening sister saints!
I hope you were rejoicing in the Lord today, no matter what went on. We had safe travels and headed into some busier areas. On that note, we made an audio called 'Caring and Sharing' to encourage us all.
(click the button below to hear it.)
Let us all rejoice to kill our flesh for the Lord!
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
It's just our reasonable service to do the works of the Lord... we should be rejoicing to be counted worthy to sacrifice our flesh for Him and we're only doing what He's already done!
When we got to our destination, we saw a LOT of beggars lined up along the roads and corners. (There's super highways through this town so they congregate in such places.) We gave out several beggar food bags while we were stopped at lights and of course the gospel goes with and if the light stays red, brother James preaches the gospel to them. (It's not always feasible to stop and talk so we do the best we can.) We just do our reasonable service by loving our neighbor that might need food and giving the most precious gift, the GOSPEL.
I came across that older picture brother James drew and it's so true. Regardless of whether the beggars should get a job or whatever their sins are, most are more receptive of the gospel and polite about listening than the church goers.
Just today I gave a gospel card to the check out woman and she took it, looked at it and said "I'm saved! But my flesh is weak".
I said "The flesh is weak but we can overcome with His power. Test yourself and go deeper in the scriptures and obey". She turned to help the next customer and as I was walking to the door I heard her say to me- loudly....
"Most of us aren't going to make even though we try!!"
I said back to her "Many are called but few are chosen, let me know if I can help you!"
She said "He's going to separate the wheat from the chaff, yep that what He gonna do!!!"
I said "That's right He is!"
I walked out shaking my head thinking...how can someone know all that and not work out their salvation with fear and trembling? I don't know the answer to it all but just keep going and being faithful.
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
We may live in parking lots out here, with cars racing around us, sirens going off, street sweepers at all hours of the late night, people wandering around yelling at themselves and uneven ground to where stuff rolls around on the counter but guess what? We overlook all that for the glory of God and I take great pleasure and immense thankfulness when I get to partake of the Lord's creation all around us. Just saying that in case some of you wonder why I post so much of God's creation, it's because that's what I focus on out here, not the sinful dark world. We love our neighbor by sharing the gospel and then we focus on what we're supposed to...
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
While I was working on this post, brother James went for a walk. I text him and said to send me pics if he saw anything that I might like to share...
I had to go into a store to a drop counter where you can have things shipped, which is a nice thing while on the road and as I walked past the seafood counter I saw these awesome looking fish...
A sister and I often think of how Jesus cooked fish for the men...
As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
He did so much in so many ways...how can we not want to serve Him 'earnestly' (as a sister said the other day.)
I also saw those...another amazing creation. It's endless but yet only a tiny fraction of the greatness of the One who created it all!
Brother James needed to replace a part in the van (the package I picked up while gazing at God's creation in the store lol). I'm thankful for a husband that can do such things and keep us rolling down the gospel road!
I found a discount carrot cake and would offer some to my sisters if I could :-) I'm thankful for my sisters who are worth more than rubies.
I hope your evening is one of peace and joy in Him.
Love in Christ,
Good day sister saints!
We are blessed with a rainy day, one of those kinds that's mild and soft little drops that just keep coming down. I love the cycle of God's creation. I used to wonder, as a child, if all the rivers flow south, how come the water up north doesn't run dry? God has the answer....
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
I love His word! There's an answer for everything and I'm so thankful to be able to partake of it! I posted yesterday how I used to be an avid book reader and during the awful time of my life before Christ, used to say that I wish there was a book that told us how to live. What great rejoicing there was in my heart the second I was told the bible was from God to us! (I know, I've already shared that before and I repeat myself but I'll keep sharing it and repeating myself because it brings Him glory!)
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
I love when I have time to do these posts cuz when it's busy I just do quick Facebook posts (which are good too) but I can share a bit more here. So today, since it was rainy out, brother James and I decided to walk around in a big warehouse store and see about giving out the gospel and get some walking in. They had workers trying to get people to try their food samples so we stopped and talked to the them and gave out the GOSPEL. Before that, brother James witnessed to some people, you can see that on his FB post HERE.
I found this purse at a thrift store and it has 2 small pockets in just the perfect place for me to put gospel cards. One for the anabaptists and one for everyone else. I can easily reach in and a split second later have one in my hand because I want to make sure I never miss an opportunity to give one out.
Titus 2 Time...
While we were in the store, I saw bulk bags of rice and it made me think of all the food storage we used to have when we were on the homestead. I used to can rice (yep they tell you that you can't but I did and so did the people who taught me lol). I have a post of it on the old sisters blog but I brought it over to our website, you can see that HERE if you're interested. I love when sisters share about their cooking, canning, gardening etc and in fact, a sister has an abundance of cauliflower to use up and I suggested trying to pickle some of it. (I loved pickling cauliflower...well any pickled veggie really!) She said she might try it, so let's see:-)
Speaking of pickled things, I was rejoicing to find these in the store for a great deal so I bought one. I know a sister who used to grow okra but I don't know if she pickled them or not and I never have. I did used to pickle the last bits of produce in the garden, the odds and ends that weren't enough to do a full load of one thing and it turned out being a colorful jar of pickled veggies. If you're interested in a money saving tip on this topic....you can reuse pickling juice for another batch, I did anyway. Take the left over pickling juice (brine) and bring it to a boil for a minute or two with the vegetable you're pickling. Put it in the jar, cool and then keep in the refrigerator. I wouldn't recommend shelf canning pickled goods with left over brine though and I only reused it once.
In the subject line it says 'sundae' and technically, that picture isn't a sundae. I think the qualifications of one is that it has to have some sort of syrup on it or something but anyway lol, I'm just sharing that because brother James and I split one for $1...what a treat. (It's frozen yogurt.) I used to enjoy making homemade goat milk ice cream and frozen yogurt from scratch from the goats we used to milk. I'm thankful for all the past experiences we had on the homestead because we can be a help to others who might have that sort of life.
I'm thankful to be able to encourage sisters who are striving to be godly holy women, doing their good works unto the Lord, taking care of their homes and children and people and whoever is in their life, with thankfulness, joy and peace.
We were looking at an event coming up so brother James made some phone calls to get more information. At the end of a phone call with a man, brother James warned him about the event and the false teachers in it and the man said he's been seeing through things that brother James brought up. No matter whether we end up at that event or not, that man, who seems to be seeking, was given much truth. It made me think about the audio I just did about rejoicing for the one (you can listen to it HERE if you missed it).
Before I let you go I had to share that awesome flower picture from a sister. She said it's from a passion fruit that grew from discarded seeds. Funny how that works, we can plant seeds and some might not grow but you toss out some scraps and plants can grow! What an amazing Creator we get to serve!
I hope your day goes well in the Lord and thank you sisters who care to share the love that God has given us.
Love to you all,
Good evening sister saints!
I hope your day is fruitful in good works unto the Lord! We saw this lake the other day on our travels when we stopped to put out a gospel card at a wayside. How peaceful and not too far behind me, as I took the picture, was a really busy, loud highway. Our perception is all a matter of our focus isn't it sisters? You could focus on all the noise of the highway and be distracted by it (flesh) or you can turn around and focus on the Lord and what He has made (Spirit).
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Just doing some sister sharing here, random pictures that make me think of things that we can learn from. That load of wood made us think about the wood carving business we had. It was a great avenue into the beginning of our travels to preach the gospel and fund ourselves but we're thankful to be set free from it to be in full time service of the Lord. We're older, financially set enough to do this because we are very wise and frugal with what resources we have, we have no children at home and are free to go...we have no reason not to go and why would we not want to for all the Lord has done for us?
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
That car with the scripture on it belongs to a woman we witnessed to. She was given much truth and encouraged to go deeper into the scriptures and obey them, with the offer of our help. She has a zeal, as you can see by the vehicle, but sadly it's misplaced with disobedience and man made religion. Makes me sad cuz we see more zeal from some of the worldly church people than some that claim the name of Christ. We're to be zealous for good works.
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
I was filling up the salt shaker today and thinking about what a blessing it is to flavor foods. They are good without it but even better with it. (Well Job would have something to say about the egg white though.)
Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
More importantly is this warning...
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Makes me think of this:
Remember Lot's wife.
She looked back...
But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
We have that same warning today don't we?
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
I saw all these wilted plants that weren't taken care of (maybe got hit by frost or not watered) and thought of all the people, throughout the years that we've come across, who didn't take care of their spiritual lives (biblically and obediently) and they wilted into destruction (or so it seems by their rotten fruit being shown). Brother James and I take it seriously to keep encouraging you all on whether you are born again by the biblical gospel or are a seeker....test yourself to the gospel HERE.
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
2 Corinthians 13:5
I took that picture for a specific reason but since I'm doing this post, it seems to be a good spot to put it, after seeing the death of those plants and talking about the spiritual death of those who don't nurture their faith. Anyway I took it to tell you that I put a gospel card in that book and hopefully whoever reads the book it will read that good news and repent. I used to be an avid book reader before I was born again and yeah...read books like that and other wicked things. I'm so thankful to be set free from that and to be able to be a daughter of the most High God!
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 6:17-18
Speaking of gospel tracts, shortly after that I was able to witness to a Mennonite couple. It was a husband and wife so I didn't go too far into doctrine and encouraged the husband to reach out to brother James. I did however tell them how we warn people of the vain traditions of man (listed a few) and a quick testimony how we came out of the world and man made religion. Then on the way out of the store, it was still raining so I put up my umbrella and was walking back to the van when I saw an older woman putting groceries in her car and getting soaking wet. It times out so I arrived by her just as she finished and I told her I would put her cart away for her since I had my umbrella. She was thankful and I gave her a gospel card. She said 'Saved by the blood of Jesus' then get in her car and shut the door. I put the cart away and headed back to the van when I saw another older woman putting her groceries away. I did the same thing and she thanked me for the gospel card and away she went. Just doing our reasonable service out here on the road and sharing all this with you so maybe you can get some ideas for when you're out looking to share the gospel too.
On the topic of shopping carts, there are 5 in this picture and more laying down the hill and the store that they belong to is in another parking lot over. This is evidence of beggars / homeless people doing what many of them do....stealing carts, using them to push their stuff to where they want to go then dumping them off. (Yes we know this because we watch them...we sleep not far from many of their encampments.) I share this not to be mean about anyone (just stating the facts) and to warn sisters not to be taken by many of their ploys asking for money and such things. (No, I'm not saying all of them are like that but so far all we've met are, based on what they tell us and what we see with our own eyes.) We still reach out with the gospel and share the best and most valuable thing with them, the bread of life. (Yes we offer food for those who are truly hungry but that's rare in this rich country with food banks all over the place, of which they tell us.)
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Living out here on the streets is certainly a blessing because we get to be right with the world, sharing the life giving gospel and being a shining light and contending for the faith. It's also a flesh killer in many ways, of which we're also thankful for because it refines us and strips away the flesh, leaving more of the spirit. I'm sharing a picture of that leaf that I found in our bed because it represents the things I, as a Titus 2 woman, deal with. As we travel down the road we get dirt that comes in from the windows, dust from gravel roads, leaves and sticks flying in when it's windy and we have our doors and windows open and it's no different than you sisters out there in your homes. It's a cycle of cleaning and when it's done, doing it over again....and over again...and over again. Lol. But it's all good works done unto the Lord and I love hearing how my sisters are doing such good works with joy and thankfulness.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men
On to some more Titus 2 Time...
I eat mostly soft cooked soups in the cooler weather so I was laughing about my grocery receipt the other day when I bought just a bit of this and that to add to some veggies I already had, for another batch of soup.
On the subject of soup, I love this picture....a sister sent this to me:-)
Another sister made some bread.
I can't make bread like that anymore in the van life but I can buy it. If we were all together we could share meals together but since sisters are scattered all over the world, we can all partake here in thought and love across the miles. Our love is from the Lord...
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Some glimpses into my Titus 2 works finding fruits and veggies on sale. Such good, wholesome nourishment and I'm so thankful for it. When I was a child, we were very poor and much of what we ate was grown or hunted so I have a great thankfulness for God growing our gardens so that we could eat. Being the only girl with 3 brothers, I had to fight for my food and eat it quickly otherwise it would disappear off my plate when mom (or dad if he ate with us) wasn't looking. I used to love going into the garden (which I had to work hard in) with a salt shaker and eating right from it. Bugs and dirt didn't bother me as I pondered this great God who grew it.
For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord ; and there is none else.
I love that picture of the house and thought it looked cozy. A nice place to look out the window overlooking a little creek that was running by it. I actually took that when we were walking down the street to a busy section of town to share the gospel.
The ending of our sunlight has come for this day and I share that pic from a couple days ago. It was so vibrant and beautiful. We're so blessed to be able to see the creation and give the Creator the glory He deserves. (In our daily lives lived for Him also.)
I hope you all have a joyous evening and much love to you all. Keep striving on and I'm here to encourage you, as long as the Lord gives me breath and I have the means to do so.
Greetings sister saints!
I hope you are standing strong today! Brother James and I went to a polling place to stand out and share the gospel and before we even got out on the sidewalks a woman approached our van. You can hear the audio:
2 Timothy 2:4
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
And brother James put me on the spot with an audio about sisters in politics.
Just some encouragement for sisters to purge politics and focus on what is eternal.
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Love to you all,
