Greetings sister saints!
Praise the Lord for this day we have to serve Him and be set free from the evil one! What a precious gift we have been given, the hope of eternal life to come for those who have been born again by the biblical gospel, which is rarely being preached today. But of course we were warned that the love would wax cold and that there would be many deceivers / false teachers, as per Jesus own words. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12 Notice that it's because iniquity abounds. What does Jesus say to those who say "Lord, Lord..."? Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:22-23 Workers of iniquity are oftentimes those who claim Christ and they will certainly be surprised in the end if they don't repent before it's too late. That should strike fear in the hearts of all mankind but sadly people think they are going to waltz right into heaven bringing all their sins because "Jesus did it all." I was thinking about all this today as we were traveling to do errands and part of what prompted it was the fact that I had given a gospel card to a woman. I was in the checkout line and when it was my turn I asked the woman how she was doing? She said she was doing well and asked me in return. She seemed friendly enough, then she gave me my total, of which had the exact amount and gave that to her with a gospel card, and said it was good news. She gave me a dirty look, didn't say a word as she grabbed the money and card (which was right with it) and tossed the card right into the garbage as I was saying 'Have a joyous day'. I gave her a treasure and she tossed it in the trash. That's what we see going on all over don't we? We have the treasure, the precious truth of God's Word and those we give it to, toss it in the trash. As I pondered this, fear struck me in the heart and I thought to examine myself to make sure I was not tossing anything of God's word in the trash, in any aspect of my life. I think of this... And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. 1 Samuel 3:19 He let none of the Lord's words fall to the ground yet we see people willingly toss it to the ground. Oh, you might say 'Well they could think you are a cult and not want to read it'. Oh okay, and I say 'What happened to love your neighbor?' And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:39 So if someone loves themselves enough to take care of their spiritual well being, they are required to do that for their neighbor who just gave them something they think is unbiblical...do they not love their neighbor to look after their spiritual well being? If not, they are in sin, a worker of iniquity, and will be cast into outer darkness if they don't repent. I can't help but wonder why people don't have fear of God? I feared God before I was even taught to fear Him! I mean, what did Peter say in 1 Peter 4:18? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Check out this audio (HERE) brother James did about just that, if the righteous are scarcely saved. Let that put fear in man that has none. Living a life of sin, claiming "Grace, Grace" is turning that treasure of truth into trash. I ponder my family who have rejected the truth for so many years (claiming grace) and even my mother said to me, in our last conversation we ever had: "The pastor said we don't have to follow the rules." No fear, she had no fear of God and now she's dead. Buried in the dirt. She tossed the treasure of God's word into the trash by her sinful, worldly, carnal, unrepentant life and even died refusing to see me because we stand for the truth, and treasure it. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 Don't let anyone discourage you on sharing the truth. Just because they have no fear and toss such precious treasures in the trash, doesn't mean we stop sharing it. Move on to the next person as the workers are few and the days are getting darker. So anyway sisters, just some thoughts I had today. Let us treasure His precious gift of His Son who gives life and truth and hope and joy and peace and the promise to be with Him if we endure in the true saving faith, and let us toss out all our sin in the trash. Stand strong sisters, and I stand with you. May the Lord watch over you and give you peace. Sister Deb Comments are closed.
